INTEGRATED HOOKS

SPARK’S INTEGRATED HOOKS

The Innovative Alternative To Traditional Hooks Or Button Cutouts

PROVEN DURABILITY
Spark’s Integrated Hooks can be utilized whenever elastics are needed
in treatment, such as for Class II and Class III correction.

• Built into the aligners, Spark’s Integrated Hooks have proven to

withstand the force of elastics throughout the course of treatment and
have been tested to handle up to 6 oz. elastics.

• Unlike traditional elastic cutouts, which are known to be difficult for

patients to insert the elastic and are prone to bending or breaking,
Spark’s Integrated Hooks are easy to insert and are not prone to
bending or breaking.

FLEXIBILITY AND CONTROL

Spark’s Integrated Hooks are designed to be used whenever elastics
are needed and accept the range of elastics that doctors regularly use
with aligner treatment.

In addition to use for Class II and III correction, doctors can use the
integrated hooks with TADS to aid with intrusion for gummy smile
correction.

Bite Ramps & bite turbos Posterior Bite Turbos

GUIDELINES FOR SPARK BITE RAMPS Posterior bite turbos are available to
add to any of the molars. Posterior
• Available for use on premolars, canines and incisors on both upper
bite turbos are built into the Spark
and lower arches
Clear Aligners and do not require
• Default size is 3mm x 3mm x 3mm any bonding or composite filling.
• Designed so that the active surface is oriented parallel to the
occlusal plane

• Lab tested for strength and durability

Bite ramps are automatically repositioned as treatment progresses to

enhance engagement between the bite ramps and teeth throughout
the entire course of treatment.

iPR spacing

*The treating doctor should carefully monitor interproximal contacts Spacing is represented by a different color coding, this allows the user
throughout treatment and the amount and timing of the IPR should always
to easily distinguish between spacing or IPR.
be at the discretion of the treating doctor.

IPR FOR SPARK

• IPR is prescribed by default only in the amounts
of .2mm, .3mm, .4mm and .5mm

• IPR in the amount of .1mm, or greater than .5mm will be prescribed

by doctor request only

• The IPR stage number is provided as a guideline by which the

IPR should be performed*

general information about staging
SPARK VIRTUAL C-CHAIN Max Velocity per aligner
0.25mm linear movement, 2 degrees of rotation, 1 degree of tip/torque
• Virtual C Chain is available by doctor request for Spark treatment

• Default includes 3 additional aligners at the end of treatment General Spark Staging Approach
• By default, Spark cases are designed using simultaneous tooth
• Virtual C Chain is programmed retraction of the anterior teeth
movement where all teeth are moving at the same time
(canine to canine) to tighten interproximal contacts
• For cases that require IPR, teeth will be partially aligned prior
• Full arch “power virtual C-Chain” available per request
to prescribing IPR
(to tighten all contacts)
• For cases that require more than 1mm of distalization, teeth
will be moved sequentially on the specific quadrant

PONTICS & ERUPTION GUIDES

PONTIC PLACEMENT FOR SPARK ERUPTION FEATURES

• Pontics are placed by default on anterior or posterior spaces and are Panoramic x-rays are strongly recommended
equal to or greater than 3.5mm with case submission.

• Full size pontics are placed when space between teeth are intended
to be maintained

• Half pontics are placed when adjacent teeth are intended to move
If the amount of available tooth surface is 2/3 or more
of the clinical crown, an attachment or button (doctor’s
choice) will be placed.

If the amount of available tooth surface is less than 2/3

of the clinical crown, an Eruption Guide will be placed
to create clearance for eruption.

The aligner will be trimmed to allow for natural or

that helps with the aesthetics and creates rigidity in the aligner on
edentulous spaces.

The use of pontics helps to prevent fitting issues and excessive aligner
retention due to undercuts created by adjacent teeth.
A new scan should be submitted for refinement

when tooth has erupted into position.
These must be filled out by the doctor at the clinic.

Patient compliance, treatment monitoring and the use of auxiliary

techniques (buttons, elastics, sectional fixed appliances, TADs) are
important to improve treatment outcome.

VIEW ALIGNER TRIMLINE IN APPROVER

Spark Approver software allows the doctor to view the Aligner trimline.

• The aligner trimline approximates the final aligner trim.

Also view the trimline when there is a special trimming request for short/ long
or distally trimmed aligners.
