Proposal For School
Proposal For School

The Management,
Nkwo, Nnewi.
Dear Sir/Madam.
LETTER OF PROPOSAL
I herby write on behalf of my proposal to the school management, to please help the
children to have a brighter future, and things I’m about to mention will help to build and bring
the children up because I believe there is a great ability in disability and Deaf can do anything
except hearing.
Firstly, I want the school authority should please schedule a time for tutorial for the
Deaf(learners with hearing impairment/ hearing loss) to let them improve in their studies and to
increase their ability to stand the best among their contemporaries(i.e. both d/Deaf and hearing).
Secondly, there should also be time for total communication where the pupils will be able
to learn new words and changes in the use of Sign Language and to have improve fluency, and
flexibility as there is increase to changes in some signs because, WASLI(World Association of
Sign Language Interpreters), ASLIN(Association of Sign Language interpreters of Nigeria) and
ESLIAN(Educational Sign Language Interpreters Association of Nigeria) have specific signs and
what they sign is registered worldwide in their conferences being held, so we should try and
introduce this to them so that wherever they meet ‘Deaf elites’ signing in any community it
would not appear strange to them and so as to augment fast learning. Kelly Clark says, sign
language is for everyone.
Thirdly, the school Management should please give a time (be it weekends, Fridays and
Saturdays) for rehearsals in drama, and music presentation so that whenever they are called for
programme or outing, we will not start that very time to teach them what to present. We should
make hay while the sun shines. As we know the type of the children we’re dealing with, they
need continual practice to make learning effective.
Also, the school management should please organize an open sport competition between
the d/Deaf of our great citadel of learning and other neighboring schools (e.g. Kings College,
Prudent Group of Schools). Let’s the children be cheered up, make them resourceful in their
talents, and let them know that they are as important and valuable in the society like any other
person too.
In addition, the management should please help the teachers to attend conferences
seminars and workshop trainings organized by professional bodies governing the field of special
education (e.g. the upcoming national Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET)
conference in session July 23rd – 27th 2018, Benin, Edo state) so as to update us to the new
inventions and ideas towards leading these children with special needs to greater heights.
Finally, I’m still pleading to the school authority to please let us expose and advance
these children to television programs, and Field trips most especially the d/Deaf (hearing
impaired children), as this will give the pupils/students more courage to stand among their
contemporaries. We can participate in Television Academic programs which can be broadcasted
with the support of the TV stations e.g. ABS
I’m grateful for the time you invested in reading this humble proposal of mine and in
anticipation for your positive and rapid intervention.
Thanks.
Yours Faithfully,
