Identifying strengths helps to:

1. Build Positives – enhancing and leveraging the client’s strengths, optimism, hope, gratitude
and success patterns
2. Reduce Negatives – diminishing negative thinking and limiting beliefs and building
persistence and resiliency

DISCOVERY QUESTIONS TO ASSIST IN IDENTIFY STRENGTHS (STRENGTHS AUDIT):

What are you really good at?


What do you enjoy doing?
What natural talents do you have?
What are you skilled at doing?
What things come naturally to you?
Where do you feel most energised and focused?
What do your friends and family think you’re great at?
Describe a time in the past where you learned a lot about yourself?
Think of a time when you’ve been in a similar situation and did well…
o What strengths did you apply to that situation?
o How could you apply those strengths now?
o What’s the outcome you most want, as opposed to the problems you want to avoid?
Recall a time in your life where you felt afraid, but you overcame your fear…
o What did you do differently to overcome the fear?
o How did it change how you felt about yourself afterward?
Describe a memory where you felt proud of yourself and what you did.
Recall an experience where you doubted your capabilities, but where you ended up
surprising yourself by what you could do.
Describe what kind of friend you are to others.
When someone you care about is sad or struggling, how do you respond?
When someone asks for your advice or help, how do you respond to those in need?
Answer the following statements:

o I’d say the most positive aspect of my personality is…
o I feel most confident when…
o I feel most alive and vibrant when…
