2.2 Tourist attraction

2.2.1 Bedugul
There are several stories that mention the history of the
origin of the name of this tourist spot, so it is called
Bedugul. The first story is, Bedugul is taken from two words,
namely "Bedug" because of the existence of a Muslim
community group around Bedugul and "Kul" from Kul-
kul which is a Traditional Balinese communication tool,
which is a Tradtional Balinese Communication tool that its function is almost the
same as kentongan. The combination of these two words gave rise to the name of
this area being called Bedugul. Another story about the history of the origin of the
name Bedugul is that in ancient times there was a king who was bathing in Lake
Beratan and was accidentally seen by local residents, while they said that the King
was visible. These are several versions of the naming of Bedugul tourist
attractions.

Bedugul is a tourist area with lakes and mountains in Bali, located in the
center of the island near Lake Bratan between Denpasar and Singaraja. This

5
region. includes the villages of Bedugul, Candi Kuning, Pancasari, Pacung and
Wanagiri.Being on the provincial road that connects Denpasar-Singaraja and
located close to the Eka Karya Botanical Gardens makes this place one of the
main tourist attractions on the island of Bali.

2.2.2 PangLipur Traditional Village

Penglipuran Village is one of the traditional villages
in Bali, located in Kubu Village, Bangli District,
Bangli Regency which has received the kalpataru
award from the government. The meaning of
kalpataru itself is awards given to individuals or
groups for their services in preserving the environment in Indonesia.
According to local residents, the word Penglipuran itself is taken
from the word Pengeling Pura, which means a holy place to remember the
ancestors. Yes, the people there really uphold the mandate of their ancestors.
The most visible characteristic of this village is the traditional building
architecture which generally has the same shape, namely the shape of the
roof and also the layout of the rooms. Maybe the aim is to bring fellow
citizens closer together so that their togetherness is maintained, apart from
that they also have the concept of blending with the natural atmosphere.
Apart from receiving the Kalpataru award, this village also received the title
as a tourist village by the Bangli Regency government in 1955, since then
this village has been visited by many tourists until now.
The unique thing about Penglipuran village is that the village spatial
management is very visible. In the north there is the Penataran temple which
is located higher than their traditional house. Meanwhile, in the middle of the
village there are residents' houses.
This tourist village has an area of 112 hectares, 40% of which is used as
land for bamboo forests. The village is inhabited by around 226 families,
most of whom work as farmers, bamboo craftsmen and livestock raisers.

6
There is a very large area of bamboo land, however, residents cannot be
careless in cutting down bamboo trees, they must ask permission from local
community leaders.

2.2.3 Braja Sandi Museum

The Bajra Sandhi Museum or better known as the Bajra
Sandhi monument is a monument that symbolizes the
struggle of the Balinese people, located in Renon,

Kuta Beach Bali is located in the southern part of
Bali Island. Located at a distance of 1.5 km from I Gusti
Ngurah Rai International Airport, Kuta Beach has a
beach of approximately 1,500 meters long. In the
past, Kuta Beach and Kuta were very quiet fishing
villages. Besides that, Kuta Beach was also used as
a commercial and maritime port by the Balinese kingdom. Now it has turned
into a small international city equipped with tourism supporting facilities and
infrastructure. The approximately 4 km long white sandy beach is very popular
with tourists for sunbathing, enjoying the sunset and swimming or surfing.

7
Before becoming a tourist attraction, Kuta was a trading port where local
products were traded to buyers from outside Bali.

Tanah Lot is located in Tabanan, only 30 km
from Denpasar. Meanwhile, the temple is
located about 300 meters offshore. Tanah Lot
Temple is believed to date back to the 16th

products and handicrafts along the entrance to Tanah Lot.Tanah Lot is located

Denpasar, at the main intersection of the Kediri City highway, there is a sign
pointing southwest which will lead to Tanah Lot. To get to Tanah Lot Temple,

8
The name Joger was taken from the name of its owner, namely Mr. Joseph
Theodorus Wulianadi, combined with the name of his friend, Mr. Gerhard Seeger.
So the name Joger is taken from, Joseph + Gerhard. Mr Gerhard Seeger was a
friend of Joseph's father when he was at school in 1970, at the Hotelfachschule
Bad Wiessee, when it was still West Germany.
The location is on Jl. Raya Kuta and Jl. Denpasar, Tabanan. What makes
Joger unique compared to other souvenir shops is that its products have their own
characteristics. The products at Joger, from clothes, sandals to bags are written
with the words 'eccentric'.

2.4 Barong Dance as One of Balinese Culture

The Barong dance for the Balinese people is a fairly
well-known dance. This dance originating from Bali
is not just a performance dance but also has
elements of religious meaning in it. This Barong
dance tells about the mythological image of a
bear which has supernatural powers and is thought to be able to protect humans.
The Barong dance is a relic of pre-Hindu culture which symbolizes the battle
between good (dharma) and evil (adharma).
The Barong dance tells the story of the fight between Barong and Rangda,
and is also equipped with other characters, such as monkeys (Barong's friends),
Dewi Kunti, Sadewa (son of Dewi Kunti) and Rangda's followers. In this dance,
Barong symbolizes goodness where the dancer wears a four-legged animal
costume and evil is symbolized by Rangda, which is a scary figure with two
pointed fangs in his mouth.
This dance has sacred elements and has its own philosophy, where the
