The notes indicated by this symbol are given to prevent damage to the product.
Disregarding these notes may result in material damage.
NOTE!
The notes indicated by this symbol must be treated as general operating information.
Disregarding these notes may result in undesirable results or conditions.
The notes indicated by this symbol are made to prevent risk of burns due to hot surfaces
and must always be observed.
Disregarding these notes may result in light or serious injury.
Where there is more than one hazard, the warning note for whichever hazard is the most serious is always used.
If in a warning note a warning triangle is used to warn of possible personal injury, a warning of material damage may
be added to the same warning note.
Qualified personnel
The product or system to which these instructions relate may be handled only by persons qualified for the work
concerned and in accordance with the instructions relating to the work concerned, particularly the safety and
warning notes contained in those instructions. Qualified personnel must be specially trained and have the

1. Technical data
The instructions describe the overrunning clutch with clutch shift in horizontal mounting position with
shafthub connection by cylindrical bore with parallel key. Where other shafthub connections are to be
used (e.g. conical bores with parallel key, shrink fit or splines to standard "DIN 5480") Siemens should be
consulted.
If a dimensioned drawing has been made out for the clutch, the data in this drawing must be given priority.
The dimensioned drawing including any other documents should be made available to the user of the
system.
Part numbers and part designations can be found in the spareparts drawing and spareparts list in
section 7 or on the dimensioned drawing.

When the UZWN overrunning clutch overruns, clutch part 3 is pushed back. The clutch shift moves into
the "disengaged" position in jerks.
During overrun disengagement is jerky.
Attention! There is a risk of injury through the movement of the clutch shift.
The clutch shift is retained by means of the locking piece (15) until manual engaging.
The UZWN overrunning clutch must not be held in an engaged position against axial
forces, e.g. from the work process.
BA 3001 en 06/2012

2. Notes
During transport, installation, dismantling, operation and maintenance of the unit, the relevant safety and
environmental regulations must be complied with at all times.
Lifting gears and load equipment for handling the unit must be suitable for the weight
of the overrunning clutch or clutch shift.
Dispose of the overrunning clutch or clutch shift in accordance with national regulations or separate them
for recycling.
The overrunning clutch and clutch shift must be stored in a dry environment. Adequate preservation must
be carried out.
Operators and users must not make any changes to the overrunning clutch or clutch shift themselves over
and above the action specified in these instructions.
If there is any visible damage the overrunning clutch or clutch shift must not be fitted
and not be put into operation.
The overrunning clutch or clutch shift must not be operated unless housed in a suitable enclosure in
accordance with the standards applying. This also applies to test runs and when checking the direction
of rotation.
All work on the overrunning clutch or clutch shift must be carried out only when it is at a standstill. Secure
the drive unit to prevent unintentional switchon! A notice should be attached to the ON switch stating
clearly that work on the overrunning clutch or clutch shift is in progress.
In addition to any generally prescribed personal safety equipment (such as safety shoes, safety clothing,
helmet) handling the overrunning clutch or clutch shift requires wearing suitable safety gloves and
suitable safety glasses.
Only spare parts made by the manufacturer Siemens must be used.
BA 3001 en 06/2012
12 / 25
3. Fitting
The clutch parts are supplied in finished condition in accordance with the order.
A set screw to standard "DIN 916" with cup point must be used when securing the clutch parts. If the clutch
part fitted on the shaft does not lie up against the shaft shoulder, we recommend using grooved spacer
rings.
The overrunning clutches are balanced to the customer's specifications.
The bellows (50) must not come into contact with solvents and cleaning agents.
With bolts (51) fasten the bellows (50) to clutch part 1 and with bolts (52) to clutch part 3.
BA 3001 en 06/2012
13 / 25
With cheesehead screw (6) fasten stop (5) (for tightening torques, see table 7).
With cheesehead screws (11) screw dust protection (10) to clutch part 3 (for tightening torques, see
table 7).
Align the clutch as described in item 3.3.
3.2.2 Fitting the UZWN overrunning clutch, sizes 330 / 460 / 610
Unscrew the set screw.
Clean the bores and shaft ends.
The bellows (50) and the dust protection (10) must not come into contact with solvents
and cleaning agents.
Design the parallelkey connection with an additional safety factor of 1.3 of the required
minimum safety. Manfacture the parallel key using a hardened or very strong material. Connect
the parallel key to the machine shaft using retaining screws, in order to ensure the correct
position of the parallel key in the shaft keyway.
Insert parallel keys into the shaft ends and bolt on.
Coat the bores of the clutch parts (1; 2) and shafts with MoS2 mounting paste (e. g. Microgleit LP 405).
Mount clutch part 1 and clutch part 2, heat up to maximum + 150 °C, if necessary.
Axial securing is effected by means of the set screw.
Fit the set screw (for tightening torque of the set screw, see table 8).
Push bellows (50) with hose clip (51) onto clutch part 1 and fit.
Oil the bore in clutch part 3 (oil viscosity VG32) and pull on the shaft.
With cheesehead screw (12) fasten stop (5) (for tightening torques, see table 7).
With cheesehead screws (52) fasten the bellows (50) to clutch part 3.
With cheesehead screws (11) fasten the dust protection (10) to clutch part 3 and with bolts (12) and the
sleeves (13) fitted behind the plate fasten to stop (5) (for tightening torques see table 7).

3.4 Alignment
When aligning, the angular and radial misalignment should be kept as low as possible.
Misalignment values specified in table 6 are maximum permissible overall values in operation, resulting
from mispositioning through imprecision during alignment and misalignment through operation
(e.g. deformation through load, heat expansion).
Reduced misalignment in the clutch minimises expected wear on the flexible elements. Misalignment in
the clutch gives rise to restorative forces which may impose inadmissible stress on adjacent machine parts
(e.g. bearings).

3.5 Shaftmisalignment values during operation
The following maximum permissible misalignment values must by no means be exceeded
during operation.

Using lifting gear transport the clutch shift by the eye bolts (9).
Mount the clutch shift after fitting and aligning the overrunning clutch.
Demount the shift fork (1) by removing the retaining pins (11) and locking rings (10).
The base plate (7) can then be bolted to the foundation.
Remove eye bolts (9).
Use quality 8.8 screws or higher for fastening.
Fit the shift fork (1) with the retaining pins (11) and the locking rings (10) so that the cam rollers (16) engage
in the groove running around clutch part 3.
Align the base plate to ensure that the two cam rollers (16) are in even contact with the side of the groove
and both bearings act at an axial height at more or less the same depth in the groove.
Mark the position of the locking piece (15) on the shift fork (1) for the shift ”DISENGAGED” position and
at this point drill a hole with diameter d = 12 mm.
Check tightening torques against item 3.7 and, if necessary, retighten the bolts.

friction μ = 0.14). The use of lubricant paint or lubricant which affects the coefficient of friction "μ" is not
permitted.
The specified tightening torques "TA" must be complied with, applying standard "DIN 25202 / 1992-04",
ScrewConnection Class "C", with an outputtorque scatter of ± 5 %.
Tighten hexagonhead bolt (12) for fastening the sliding bearings (14) to 25 Nm and secure mediumfirmly
with LOCTITE.

Check bolttightening torques for the overrunning clutch and tightening torques for
the foundation bolts of the coupled machine before startup. Check the position and
operation of the proximity indicators to determine the shift position. Enclosures
(coupling protection, contact prevention at least IP2X) must be fitted.
Overload conditions during startup cannot be excluded. If the overrunning clutch
breaks through overload, metal parts may fly off and cause personal injury and/or
material damage.
Follow the following switchingon procedure for startup and subsequent operation.
Manual operation of the clutch shift
• Main motor "OFF"
Shift position ”DISENGAGED”
UZWN overrunning clutch is disengaged, the proximity indicator has gives signal B20.
• Shift KSUN clutch shift mechanically and adjust UZWN overrunning clutch.
• If signal B40 is given, start auxiliary drive, then enable main drive.
• If signal B40 is not given, start auxiliary drive briefly and once more try to adjust KSUN clutch shift.
The overrunning clutch must run with little noise and without vibration. Irregular behaviour must be treated
as a fault requiring immediate remedy. In case of fault the drive must be stopped at once. The necessary
measures for repair must be taken in accordance with the safety regulations applying.

5. Faults, causes and remedy
5.2.1 Frequent faults when selecting the overrunning clutch and/or the size of the overrunning clutch
• Important information for describing the drive and the environment are not communicated.
• System torque too high.
• System speed too high.
• Application factor not correctly selected.
• Chemically aggressive environment is not taken into consideration.
• The ambient temperature is not permissible.
• Finished bore with inadmissible diameter and/or inadmissible fit assignment.
• Machining of parallel keyways of which the width across corners is greater than the width across
corners of the parallel keyways to standard "DIN 6885/1" with a maximum permissible bore.
• The transmission capacity of the shafthub connection is not appropriate to the operating conditions.
• Maximum load or overload conditions are not being taken into consideration.
• Dynamic load conditions are not being taken into consideration.
• Shafthub connection resulting in impermissible material stress on the overrunning clutch.
• Operating conditions are being changed without authorisation.

5.2.2 Frequent faults when fitting the overrunning clutch
• Components with transport or other damage are being fitted.
• The shaft diameter is beyond the specified tolerance range.
• Coupling parts are being interchanged, i. e. their assignment to the specified shaft is incorrect.
• Specified axial fastenings are not fitted.
• Specified tightening torques are not being adhered to.
• Bolts are inserted dry or greased.
• Flange surfaces of screwed connections have not been cleaned.
• Alignment and/or shaftmisalignment values do not match the specifications in the instructions manual.
• The coupled machines are not correctly fastened to the foundation, and as a result shifting of the
machines e.g. through loosening of the foundationscrew connection is causing excessive
displacement of the coupling parts.
• The coupled machines are not sufficiently earthed.
• The coupling guard used is not suitable.
