Azman had just graduated from a local university in Johor. As an eldest son, he is responsible to
find job immediately. He had tried to apply various jobs in Klang Valley. Yet, none of them give
good response. Recently, Khazanah Corporations advertised a few job vacancies in different
positions. He then had applied for a marketing executive there. One of the requirements is having
at least two year working experience in work related area, which could not fulfill by him.
Upon hearing the result, he was lucky because he was selected to attend an interview which will
be held two weeks from now. However, he had no ideas as he had no experience about attending
any interview beforehand. He then tried to ask from his friends and families about this. The letter
also indicated that once he was successful in the interview session, he needs to attend training
for one month in Ratchaburi, Thailand.
c. Identify FIVE (5) types of common interviewing mistakes that might be done by an
interviewer.

2) Jumping to hasty conclusions about the applicant.
3) Interviewer possessing inadequate knowledge about the job.
4) Allowing the order interviews to affect overall rating.
5) Not involving other employees in the interview process.

1) Performance or achievement test
- Determine how well an applicant can perfrm those task for which he or she is being
considered
2) Intelligence test
- Determine one’s mental and reasoning abilities.
3) Personality Test
- Determine whether an applicant possesses certain characteristics needed for job
success.
