Your semester at the European Campus in Pfarrkirchen will start on 02 October 2023. Please

3. Pay student union fee of €72

Please note: We will not be able to enrol you until your payment has been credited to our
account!
Payment is made directly from the Primuss portal via PayPal or credit card. You will find a
button for this in the online portal.
Please note that if you are enrolled in two courses of study, the student union fee of €72 is only
payable for one course of study.
If you are already enrolled in another course of study at DIT and have re-registered for the
coming semester, no second payment is required.

Please note that starting with the winter semester 24/25, service fees may be
charged according to our fee regulations if you are not an EU citizen or do not have a
German university admission qualification. For further information, please refer to the
relevant fee regulations on the DIT homepage.

4. Take out German health insurance

One of the most important tasks for you is taking out a German health insurance.
We can only enrol you at our university once we received an electronic confirmation from the
insurance company directly. Pdf files send by email cannot be considered!
Please note: Although there is no specific deadline, we highly recommend to complete this step
as soon as possible to avoid further delay in your enrolment process.

5. Upload missing documents

If you have not done so already, please upload the following documents to the Primuss
application portal (Overview → Upload Documents).
No enrolment will take place without these documents!

▪ Signed Application for Enrolment at the European Campus Rottal-Inn (see enclosure;
with power of attorney, where applicable)
▪ Copy of valid passport or identity card (if not already uploaded)
▪ Curriculum vitae (CV) (if not already uploaded)
▪ Certified copy of high school diploma / leaving certificate of former secondary
school (if not already uploaded, deadline can be found in the Primuss application portal)
▪ If applicable: Certificate of Exmatriculation (only required if you were previously

6. Student ID card

After we have received all necessary documents and your payment, your student ID card will be
created. If you live in Germany, we will send the card to the address saved in the application
portal. If you live outside of Germany, you will receive your card at the beginning of the
semester. Further information on this will be provided on the first day of the semester.

If you already have a student ID card from your previous studies at DIT, you will not receive a
new ID card. Upon validation at the beginning of your studies, the updated details regarding
your degree programme will be printed on your card.

Please keep this letter in a safe place since it will be required for your visa process
and may need to be presented to other authorities as well. Duplicates are not issued
as a matter of principle.
In case you need a visa, we ask you to start the application process and book an
appointment at the embassy immediately. Please be aware that delayed visa
appointments will not entitle you to postpone your studies to the next semester!

1. Accommodation in Pfarrkirchen

A comfy place to live is essential for your studies. Thus, please make sure to secure a place to
stay prior to your arrival in Pfarrkirchen. Please start looking for a place to stay as soon as
possible. If you do not have a permanent place to live upon arrival, please do at least arrange a
booking in one of the hotels in Pfarrkirchen and the surroundings.
Current offers are regularly published on several online platforms, p.ex. university flat exchange
platform
However, there are many more options to find a place to stay.
You can contact the International Office by sending an email to [email protected]
and we can provide you with our detailed info sheet on housing which can help you find a place
to stay!
Important note: We as a university do not run dormitories or rent apartments! We can only help
you by providing you with links and tips.

2. Orientation Day

You will receive a separate invitation to attend the Orientation Day on 02.10.2023. Participation
is compulsory for all freshmen.

All of the formalities are taken care of during these days (including registration with the town
hall, enrolment, visa processes, bank account opening, etc.).
Further information can be found on our website; an e-mail outlining the exact schedule will be
sent out to you by mid / end of September.

3. Language requirements

Proof of German language proficiency

Foreign applicants must furnish a language proficiency certificate (TestDaf/DSH/telc/Goethe

Certificate or others) demonstrating that they have a sufficient grasp of German.

4. Health insurance

All students registered at DIT are subject to compulsory health insurance.

Students younger than 30 years are entitled to take out public health insurance while students
older than 30 years must get a private one. Please find detailed information on the different
processes here.

The proof of valid health insurance is required before enrolment and will be electronically
transmitted to the university. Please be aware that enrolment at our university cannot be
completed in case of a missing digital health insurance confirmation. There are several public
health insurance providers in Germany and the tariffs are almost equal. Students’ premiums are
approx. €120 per month. You can decide which insurance company you prefer.

The International Office will offer an open online consultation hour on health insurance for
international students on 18.07.2023, 2pm (CEST) and on 29.08.2023, 2pm (CEST) where
some of the statutory insurance companies will present their offers.

5. Liability insurance

The most important and yet the least expensive insurance coverage you will need in Germany is
third-party private liability insurance (Haftpflichtversicherung). Liability insurance covers you, as
an insured person, in the event that you cause personal injury to third parties or damage their
property. As German law states that the perpetrator is liable for damage caused to others,
liability insurance companies first check whether the damage was clearly caused by you. We
recommend that our international students sign up for liability insurance during their studies in
Germany. Depending on the cover, not only small mishaps but also serious accidents can be
covered through liability insurance. We recommend that you only purchase a policy that renews
annually.

6. Visa formalities

Non-European Union students (from overseas) require a student visa for entering Germany.
Please contact the German Embassy in your home country as soon as possible to find out how
to apply for a student visa. Having entered Germany and having registered your residence with
the local town hall, you will be required to apply for your residence permit at the local
Foreigners´Office.
Residence permits cost approximately €110 - €150.

Students requiring a visa for their stay in Germany should note that a financial statement will
need to be provided showing that they have €11,208 on a German bank account (€934 per
month for twelve months) to cover their stay in Germany. Please bear in mind that proof of
such funds (€11,208) must be provided every year.

7. Bank account and cash funds

Please also take into consideration that it can take a few days for a bank account to be opened
and before you are able to transfer any money. To be on the safe side, we recommend that you
bring some cash with you since credit cards are not accepted everywhere.

3. Einzahlung des Studentenwerksbeitrages in Höhe von 72,00 Euro
Bitte beachten Sie:
Ohne Zahlungseingang dürfen wir Sie nicht immatrikulieren!
Die Bezahlung erfolgt direkt aus dem Primuss Bewerberportal über PayPal oder Kreditkarte. Sie
finden dazu einen Button im Online Portal.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass bei einer Doppelimmatrikulation der Studentenwerksbeitrag in Höhe
von 72 Euro nur für einen Studiengang zu zahlen ist.
Sollten Sie bereits in einem anderen Studiengang an der THD immatrikuliert sein und sich für
das kommende Semester rückgemeldet haben, ist keine 2. Zahlung erforderlich. Bitte laden Sie
den Beleg dieser Überweisung als Zahlungsnachweis hoch.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass ab dem Wintersemester 24/25 aufgrund unserer
Gebührensatzung Servicegebühren anfallen können, falls Sie kein EU-Bürger / keine
EU-Bürgerin sind oder keine inländische Hochschulzulassungsberechtigung haben.

4. Abschluss einer deutschen Krankenversicherung

Eine der wichtigsten Aufgaben für Sie ist der Abschluss einer deutschen Krankenversicherung.
Wir können Sie erst dann an unserer Hochschule einschreiben, wenn wir eine elektronische
Bestätigung direkt von der Versicherungsgesellschaft erhalten haben. Bitte verständigen Sie
dazu Ihre gesetzliche Krankenkasse, dass Sie sich an der Technischen Hochschule Deggendorf
immatrikulieren werden. Der Eingang der digitalen Meldung Ihrer Krankenkasse kann bis zu 14
Tage dauern. Wir akzeptieren keine Pdf-Dateien, die Sie uns direkt per E-Mail senden.

Sollten Sie privat krankenversichert sein, befreit Sie eine gesetzliche Krankenkasse Ihrer Wahl
von der Versicherungspflicht und bescheinigt dies uns ebenfalls mit einer digitalen Meldung.
Bescheinigungen von Ihrer privaten Krankenversicherung sind nicht ausreichend.

6. Studentenausweis

Nach Eingang aller erforderlichen Unterlagen und Eingang Ihrer Zahlung wird Ihr
Studentenausweis erstellt.
Bei einem Wohnsitz innerhalb Deutschlands wird dieser an die im Bewerberportal hinterlegte
Anschrift postalisch verschickt. Bei einem hinterlegten Wohnsitz außerhalb Deutschlands
erhalten Sie den Ausweis zu Semesterbeginn. Nähere Informationen dazu erhalten Sie am
Erstsemestertag.

Sollten Sie bereits einen Ausweis aus Ihrem Vorstudium an der THD besitzen, erhalten Sie
keinen neuen Ausweis. Bei einer Validierung bei Studienbeginn werden die aktuellen
Studiengangsdaten auf Ihre Karte aufgedruckt.

Bitte heben Sie diesen Bescheid unbedingt sorgfältig auf, falls Sie ihn in den nächsten
Jahren zur Vorlage bei Behörden benötigen. Zweitschriften können grundsätzlich nicht
ausgestellt werden.

Der Zulassungsbescheid muss zurückgenommen werden, wenn er aufgrund falscher Angaben
