SUBMISSION

We, the students of First year of

Department of Computer Engineering,
humbly completed this Micro-project
work on “types of the printer ” for time
to time as described in This report by
our own skill and study between the
periods from 2024-2025

As per instruction and guidance of

Mrs.Pratiksha patil mam and following
students were associated with us for
this work. However, quantum of our
contribution has been approved by the
guide.

Printer

1.0 Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project (minimum 30-50

words)=
A printer is a device that accepts space text and graphic
output the information to paper usually to standard size 8.5
by 11 sheet of paper. Higher Image quality. There is no
denying the fact that production printers are big machines.
More Productivity. By natural product printers get more work
done faster than a standers printer or MFP.

2.0 Course Outcomes Addressed

* Students are able to understand the concept
onTypes of Printers.
*This micro project helps to know more about
Types of Printers
o Proposed Methodology
(Procedure in brief that will be followed to do the
microproject) in about 100 to 200 words)
 First all team members discussed about the
topic and select the topic.
 All team members will search on internet to
get more information about the topic and to
know resources.
4.0 REPORTS FOR THE MICRO-PROJECT

7 | Page
The micro-project report has two parts (format is
attached as Annexure I).
First part is 'Project Proposal' about two pages in
12-point calibre font of 1.2 spacing with margins
of 2.5 centimetres, top, bottom, right and left in
the format given in the Annexure- I.
This is related to the planning, which should be
submitted by the end of fourth week of the
semester.
The purpose of this part is to teach the student
to plan and also to ensure that students finalize
their title and start working by the fourth week.

Prepare a Presentation on Types of Printers
1.0 Rationale
Printers have also advanced too and no longer
are they just a device for you to print things
from. You can use them for scanning, copying,
printing out high quality photos and much more.
By speaking to a company that offers a managed
print solution, you can also see how they can be
of real benefit to your business.
2.0 Aims/Benefits of the micro project
Hardware requires software to run correctly.
Without the correct hardware, your software may
not run efficiently or at all. It is important to
consider both when making decisions about your
IT systems, as this can affect the way you work,
your productivity and your business' bottom line.
Software is a collection of instructions that tell a
computer how to work. This is in contrast to
hardware, from which the system is built and
actually performs the work.

5.0 WHAT IS THE PRINTER

An external hardware device responsible for
taking computer data and generating a hard copy
of that data . printer are one of the most
commonly used peripherals and they print text
and still image on the paper

10 | P a g e
 IMPACT PRINTER
 These printers have a mechanism that touches the paper to
create an image. These printers work by banging a print head
containing a number of metal pins which strike an inked ribbon
placed between the print head and the paper.

 NON IMPACT PRINTER

These printers are create an image on the print medium

without the use of force they don’t touch the paper while
creating a image. Non-impact printers us they don’t strike the
paper.

 DOT MATRIX PRINTER

 The term dot matrix refers to process of placing dot to
form an image.
 Its speed is usually 30 to 550 characters per second (cps)
 This is the cheapest and the noisiest printer and has a low
print quality
 Dot matrix was 1st introduced by Centronics in 1970

the latter half of 1980s and are very popular
owing to their extra ordinary performance.

 DYE SUBLIMATION PRINTER

A dye-sublimation printer is a printer that works by
heating ink and then depositing it on a
surface. The term arises from the misconception that the ink
goes from solid to gas without going through a liquid phase, or
sublimation. Dye-sublimation printers are used for printing
photos and designs on solid objects

 MULTIFUNTION PRINTER

A multifunction printer
(also known as an MFP) is a piece of office
equipment or machinery that serves the primary
purpose of copying and printing documents. Over
time, multifunction printers have been referred
to as photocopiers, copiers, Xerox machines, and
a host of other names.

 3-D Printer

3D printing, also known as

additive manufacturing, is a method of
creating a three-dimensional object layer-by-
layer using a computer created design. 3D
printing is an additive process whereby
layers of material are built up
to create a 3D part.
