results of the test will guide the focus areas for deeper exploration.
o Encourage students to reflect on their own understanding of contemporary
Filipino art forms and think about any questions they might have.
Assessment:
 The diagnostic test itself will serve as the assessment tool for understanding students'
current knowledge and identifying areas for further instruction.
Follow-up:
 Evaluate the diagnostic tests to identify common areas of strength and weakness.
 Plan subsequent lessons based on the analysis of test results, ensuring to address any
gaps in knowledge and building on areas where students show interest or proficiency.

Use specific examples from different regions to support your answer.
Sample Answer: The evolution of contemporary art forms in the Philippines is a dynamic
blend of indigenous practices, colonial influences, and modern innovations. Indigenous art
forms like T'nalak weaving by the T'boli of Mindanao continue to thrive, reflecting traditional
patterns and spiritual beliefs. The Spanish colonial period introduced baroque architecture
and religious iconography, evident in the ornate designs of churches like San Agustin in
Manila.
Modern innovations have further transformed the art scene. Digital technology enables urban
artists to create multimedia installations and street art that resonate with contemporary
themes. Leeroy New's installations, which combine traditional materials with digital
projections, exemplify this blend. The Pintados festival in Leyte merges historical tattoo art
with modern performance, showcasing the continuous evolution of Filipino art forms.
Overall, contemporary Filipino art is a testament to the country's rich cultural tapestry and its
adaptability to change.
