JOB

When I was a child, I wished I could be a secretary because of the following reasons. The
first reason is that a secretary can wear stunning clothes. I mean I often watch secretarial films
in which secretaries will dress and make up beautifully and elegantly. Besides, a secretary is
someone who is excellent and knowledgeable in lots of fields. They have professional and
skillful communication skills, along with a balance between their boss’ schedule and theirs. In
addition, this job requests flexibility, activeness, and quickness. Finally, it is known that the
secretary is a high-paying job if the secretary has enough ability and academic level. I want to
be a secretary to a senior leader to be able to study and improve myself every day, along with
making money for my future life.

XP AT UNIVERSITY
Studying at the university brings me exciting experiences. Firstly, making new friends is one of
the most interesting experiences because it creates a new and lively environment that helps
students be more outgoing and open-minded. Besides, I can approach academic knowledge,
which is both attractive and difficult. Moreover, it helps me enhance my working group skills
since I often work in groups or pairs to finish presentations or complicated exercises. Finally, I
am trying to be independent enough to both study and live when entering university. I have to
live far from my parents and study self-consciously, which is not only an experience but also a
challenge.
In conclusion, the university is an environment of continuous innovation, and I am currently
attempting to adapt to it.

LETTER INVITATION

Dear Jessica,

How are things? It is great to hear that you would like to visit my hometown.

I live in An Giang province which has beautiful natural landscapes, vast paddy fields, and
delicious specialties. In my perspective, the best time to visit is in the spring season because the
weather is cool and cloudy. It is suitable for us to take wonderful photos and engage in the Tet
holiday.

I will attempt to take you to visit all the popular and meaningful destinations in my hometown.
Firstly, we can ride a motorbike to try street foods like snakehead fish noodle soup, some
Vietnamese palmyra palm cake belonging to Tri Ton. The next place we will go to is my
family's paddy field in order to experience farmers' work and I am introducing my friends living
there to bring us to other special local destinations. After that, we will visit some historical
villages such as Ba Chuc, Oc Eo, and Tri Ton. At that time, I will tellI you about the history of
my hometown. Especially, you will be able to enjoy the traditional Vietnamese festival with
foods, customs, and a bustling atmosphere.
Therefore, I hope you will come and stay at my house to be convenient for movement and save
a little cost. My family always welcomes you, and my parents would love to meet and celebrate
New Year with you.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

COMPLAINT LETTER

Dear Sir,

Today, I am writing this letter to complain about my current roommate.

Last month, she and I decided to share a room to save on accommodation costs, but she
usually brought her friends into our room to have parties annoying me. Besides, she allowed her
friends to use my belongings such as body care products, clothes, and even my laptop when I
was not present. This information was given by my friend living next door when she happened
to see it. I was shocked to hear about that, so I immediately texted her to request a meeting, but
she rejected it and avoided me throughout the week.

I think the best way to solve the problem is to ask her to return everything she used, and I
need a new room next term, preferably a single one. Please call me at 12359745 or send me
email via [email protected] to let me know how you would like to deal with this.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

TELL LETTER
Dear Tom,
I received your letter yesterday, and I sympathized with you as I used to be impotent in English,
especially listening. I think it is one of the hardest skills. Today, I am writing this letter to give
some experience in improving it.
First of all, it is essential to have quality English listening resources suited to your level. You
can refer to BBC Learning English and Ted's Talk, the most popular websites, which contain
useful and exciting content for learners. Thanks to this you can improve your listening skills
and demonstrate effectively.
In addition, watching movies is appropriate since it helps you learn while relaxing. Besides, you
can gain realistic vocabulary and English usage of native speakers by watching multiple times
as well as you should begin with the basic level.
Last but not least, you can engage in an English club if you want to have a real environment to
train your skills. Listening to your friends and processing information directly will make you
more flexible and proficient. Besides, it helps you make friends and learn from each other.
I hope this advice is useful to you. I hope you have made a big improvement.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
ASK LETTER
Dear Jessica,
How are things? Today I am writing this letter to ask for some information about American life.
I decided to take a gap year and travel to your country instead of attending college.
First of all, how is the weather there? If everything is trouble-free, I will get there in October.
Besides, I have heard that it will be freezing, so I hope you have confirmed that with me and
have given some advice about clothes or accessories.
Moreover, I am going to seek a job, as well as I am open to both clerical and manual work, but I
am unsure of what positions would be suitable for me. Could you recommend any specific job
opportunities that I should consider? I recently took the IELTS examination and received a
score of 7.0, I think it will be a vital condition to help me have a job easily.
Lastly, I am curious about your nation’s cuisine as well, so could you share some popular and
famous dishes that I must try? In my perspective, it would be perfect if I could taste authentic
American food in the original country. Additionally, I searched for your country’s traditional
food that displayed only fried foods, so I hope to learn more about the variety of American
cuisine.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,

GIVING MY FRIEND THE INFORMATION.

Dear Tom,
How are things? I have just received your letter, so I am writing this letter to respond to your
queries about the Maroon 5 concert.
As you know, I purchased 2 tickets for my brother and me to attend the concert. Unfortunately,
I had a significant exam that day, and I did not receive consent from my professor to postpone
and alter the exam date. Moreover, it is known that you are a loyal fan of Maroon 5, and you
missed a chance to buy a ticket on the sale opening day, so it can be a precious opportunity.
When it comes to the ticket, the concert is taking place on September 29th in My Dinh Stadium,
which is the biggest one in Vietnam, in Ha Noi. The showtime starts at 7pm but I suggest
arriving at least 3 hours earlier to avoid the rush. Beyond, the ticket consisted of refreshments
and some accessories to help you store memories with your idols. Besides, the price of these
tickets that I resell to you will be cheaper than conventional sellers, so it just takes $100 for 2
tickets which is the most affordable price at the moment.
I hope you have a great enjoyment. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,

APOLOGY LETTER

Dear Lily,

How are things? I hope you have a nice day. Today I am writing this letter to express my
apology, as I could not engage in your wedding party.

I received your invitation last week, but my study schedule is too busy to respond to you. To
be honest, I have planned clothes, and special gifts, beyond, I bought an airplane ticket to arrive
there to join in your grand date. However, I had a significant exam that day, and I did not
receive consent from my professor to postpone and alter the exam date. I feel so disappointed as
we are our best friends that I can not celebrate with you on your wedding date.

Although I can not be there that day, I will take you out to eat at your favorite restaurant next
week or soon, then we can go to the cinema to watch the latest movies. I promise to spend the
whole of my day with you making up for my absentation.

I hope you will be a stunning and gorgeous bride who has the most happiness with your loved
one. Please forgive my absence.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

ESSAY
We live in an age when many of us tend to study abroad instead of domestically. It is believed
that it brings numerous advantages. However, others find that plentiful disadvantages result
from it. Both positive and negative sides will be discussed in this essay.
On the one hand, international studying is helpful for those who prefer independence and
exploration. First of all, it contributes to personal development meaning that students must
continuously improve themselves to adapt to the new living conditions as living and studying in
another country requires independence and self-control. Secondly, students can broaden their
understanding of varied educational styles. For example, international education often focuses
on practical skills instead of theoretical knowledge. Last but not least, it brings an opportunity
to travel and discover new places. Beyond academics, students can engage with different
cultures and lifestyles firsthand. It is like an open door to cultural awareness and language
proficiency.
On the other hand, it is thought that studying abroad is not ideal. To begin with, each country
will have its own traditional culture, so it is hard to get used to a new one immediately.
Therefore, overseas students will be shocked unless learn about and prepare well. What is more,
homesickness is a challenge that most foreign students have to overcome because they live far
away from home and have no relatives in an unfamiliar nation. Besides, they can feel empty on
holiday occasions when celebrating alone. On top of this, mental health will be a big problem
for those who do not socialize, for living in a new environment forces them to become open-
minded and outgoing to share and escape from barriers. However, it will be challenging for
introverts because of their closed-off lifestyles, hence, it might lead to depression and autism.
Taking everything into consideration, studying abroad is a double-edged sword. It can create
various opportunities for individual growth, experiencing different styles of education, and
discovering the world, but leading to some downsides. From my perspective, international
studying will be positive or negative depending on how it is pursued and managed. It is
important to carefully consider all factors before deciding to study abroad.

OPINION ESSAY (AGREE OR DIS_)

Some people think that only native speakers can teach English well
We live in an age when many of us find that learning English is crucial. Some people say that
only natives are capable of teaching English effectively. Others do believe that it is difficult to
know for native speakers. From my point of view, I totally agree with the latter idea.
First of all, a significant point to consider is that it is hard to communicate with native people.
This means that students cannot understand what they say without foundational knowledge. To
illustrate this point, I would like to mention that sound elision - one of the major challenges of
listening skills - makes non-native speakers misunderstand due to not pronouncing a particular
sound in a word.
Secondly, another point I would like to make is that hiring a native is expensive for education.
This is because English is the most popular language and is evolving over the world. Moreover,
foreign currency is much higher than Vietnamese, so the cost of learning English will be
multiplied several times. Hence, hiring native speakers at higher costs can make it difficult for
smaller schools or less wealthy students to access their services, leading to inequality in
education.
Last but not least, non-native speakers will have deeper sympathy for those who are learning
English. They understand what beginners overcome, so they can give their appropriate
educational methods. For example, when students struggle with pronunciation, non-native
teachers can easily relate and provide helpful tips as they have also made similar mistakes in the
past, helping us enhance quickly and effectively.
To sum up, this problem is not capable of defining what is right or wrong. However, I believe
that learning from native speakers may present challenges in communication, cost, and
empathy, making it less accessible and effective for many students. Additionally, we must strive
to practice diligently in order to achieve the desired results as soon as possible.
