Because

We use "because" to express a reason.

For example:

a. We didn’t go to picnic because it was rainy.


b. I need to go to bed early today because I have an early appointment
tomorrow.
c. Amber cannot come with us because she has an assignment to finish.
d. Daniel and his sister are successful because they work hard.

So
We use "so" to express a result.

For example:

a. Henderson is very clever so he doesn’t need to study much to


pass the class.
b. I was running late for my meeting so I had to take a cab.
c. Mr. Jefferson is a very good teacher so his classes are always
filled very quickly.
d. I was very hot so I opened the window.

Complete the following sentences using so or because.
