Respondents of the Study

The study participants involved Local Government Unit (LGU) officials and
Barangay Officials from Barangay Igulot, Bocaue, Bulacan. The summary of
the participant’s demographic characteristics involved in the study is shown
in Table 1.

These participants were selected due to their involvement in community

development and recreational planning, making them the key decision-
makers for the proposed Igulot Recreational Center project. Their insights are
crucial for understanding the project’s feasibility, potential benefits, and
possible challenges.

The selection of officials was made based on the direct involvement of such
individuals in planning and implementing community projects. Gathering
feedback from these respondents provided the study with a clearer
understanding of how the proposed multipurpose court facility could benefit
the community and meet local needs.

Data and Modeling Approach To address the research question, a mixed-

methods approach will be employed, combining quantitative and qualitative
data collection and analysis techniques.

Data Collection Methods:

Surveys:
Distribute structured questionnaires to LGU and barangay officials to quantify
current facility usage, demand for new courts, and perceived barriers. The
survey will include both closed-ended and open-ended questions. Key
Informant Interviews (KII):

Conduct interviews with selected LGU and barangay officials to gather

qualitative insights regarding community needs, historical challenges, and
suggestions for facility usage. Focus Group Discussions (FGD):

Organize discussions with community members to capture diverse

perspectives on the proposed multi-purpose courts. Data Modelling.

Statistical analysis using software (e.g., R or Python) to analyze survey data

and generate descriptive statistics. Thematic analysis of qualitative data
from interviews and FGDs to identify recurring themes and insights. 3.
Results of Data Analysis Quantitative Analysis:

Demographics of Respondents:

Plot 1: Bar chart showing the percentage of barangays with existing multi-
purpose courts versus those without. Demand Assessment:

Plot 2: Pie chart illustrating the perceived need for new multi-purpose courts
(e.g., High Need, Moderate Need, Low Need). Funding and Resource
Challenges:

Table 1: Summary table of barriers identified by respondents (e.g., budget

constraints, land availability). Qualitative Analysis:

Identification of key themes from interviews and focus groups:

Theme 1: Community engagement and support for new facilities.

Theme 2: Specific activities that respondents envision for multi-purpose

courts (e.g., sports tournaments, community gatherings).

Plot 3: Word cloud visualization of the most frequently mentioned activities

and concerns from open-ended survey responses.

Plot 4. Substantive Conclusions The analysis indicates a significant demand

for multi-purpose courts in the surveyed barangays, with over 70% of
respondents rating the need as "High." Many communities express a desire
for improved recreational facilities that support a variety of activities.
However, common barriers such as budget constraints and land availability
must be addressed to realize these projects.
The insights gained from both quantitative and qualitative data suggest that
while there is substantial support for the initiative, strategic planning
involving community input is essential to ensure the facilities meet local
needs. The data highlights the importance of collaborative efforts among
LGUs, barangay officials, and community members to successfully
implement the multi-purpose court project.
