Effectiveness of Telehealth Nursing Interventions

Background

The effectiveness of telehealth nursing interventions encompasses

technological advancements, healthcare access, nursing roles, chronic disease
management, patient education, research gaps, regulatory and reimbursement
factors, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, patient privacy, and patient
acceptance. Investigating the effectiveness of telehealth nursing interventions is vital
for optimizing the use of technology in healthcare delivery and improving patient
outcomes while addressing the challenges and opportunities in this evolving field.
The recent COVID-19 climate has caused an upsurge in telehealth use, with 46% of
U.S. consumers now using remote care in lieu of in-person appointments. In
response to this demand, healthcare providers have scaled their offerings. They are
seeing anywhere from 50 to 175 times their original patient visit capacity. This
reliance on telehealth will likely continue in our country with telehealth nursing
quickly adapting to forefront challenges (Spring Arbor University Online, 2023).

Telehealth nursing interventions is a subject of growing importance in

healthcare, particularly in light of the advancements in technology and the increasing
demand for accessible and efficient healthcare services. This study wants to
understand how these factors impact the adoption and sustainability of telehealth
nursing interventions is essential for healthcare providers and policymakers.
Telehealth interventions raise concerns about patient privacy and data security.
Ensuring the confidentiality of patient information and compliance with privacy
regulations are critical considerations.
Statement of the Problem

The purpose of a study investigating is to evaluate and assess the impact and
efficacy of using telehealth technologies in nursing care and patient management.
Telehealth refers to the use of digital communication tools and remote monitoring
devices to deliver healthcare services at a distance. Such studies are conducted to
gain a better understanding of how telehealth interventions can improve patient
outcomes, access to care, and the overall quality of nursing care. Here are some
specific purposes and objectives of such a study.

The effectiveness of telehealth nursing interventions is to contribute to the

body of knowledge regarding the benefits, limitations, and best practices associated
with using telehealth technologies in nursing care. The insights gained from such
research can help healthcare organizations make informed decisions about
incorporating telehealth into their nursing services and ultimately improve patient
care and outcomes.

Research Questions:

1. Have you ever used telehealth nursing services before?

2. Did the telehealth nursing interventions meet your healthcare needs
effectively?
3. Did you find the telehealth nursing interventions to be convenient and time-
saving compared to in-person visits?
4. Did you feel that the telehealth nursing interventions provided you with
sufficient education and information about your health condition?
5. Did you feel that the telehealth nursing interventions were personalized to
your specific healthcare needs?
Alternative and Null Hypothesis

Null Hypothesis (H0):

- There is no significant difference in patient outcomes between those who receive

telehealth nursing interventions and those who receive traditional in-person nursing
interventions.

Alternative Hypothesis (H1):

- There is a significant difference in patient outcomes between those who receive

telehealth nursing interventions and those who receive traditional in-person nursing
interventions.

Research Design and Methods of Collecting Data

A research design in which the same assessment measures are given to participants
both before and after they have received a treatment or been exposed to a condition,
with such measures used to determine if there are any changes that could be
attributed to the treatment or condition (Campbell & stanley, 1963).

We the researcher will be using pre-post research design. This design involves
measuring outcomes before and after the implementation of a telehealth nursing
intervention. The effectiveness of the intervention can be determined by comparing
the pre-intervention and post-intervention outcomes. This design allows researchers
to assess the impact of the intervention by measuring changes in the outcome
variables over time. It helps in determining whether the intervention has had a
significant effect and provides a basis for evaluating the effectiveness of telehealth
nursing interventions.
Sampling

Probability sampling is a sampling method that involves randomly selecting a

sample, or a part of the population that you want to research. It is also sometimes
called random sampling (Kassiani Nikolopoulou, 2022). The researcher chooses this
research sampling that involves selecting participants randomly from the population
of interest.

Target Participants

The target participants of the study on the effectiveness of telehealth nursing

interventions would typically be nurses and patients who are involved in telehealth
interventions. They will provide valuable insights and data regarding the impact of
these interventions on patient outcomes, healthcare costs, and patient satisfaction.
Their participation can help researchers understand the effectiveness of telehealth
nursing interventions in improving access to healthcare, reducing hospital
readmissions, and enhancing patient self-management skills. Target participants'
feedback and experiences can inform the development and refinement of telehealth
nursing interventions to better meet the needs of patients and healthcare providers.
