Visioning How-To
Visioning How-To
Scaffolding
Your final step in your vision creation process is to create
what are called Scaffolding images in order to guide you
along your way. Bring your three-year vision to mind. When
you see yourself living that version of your dream life, ask
yourself, “Where do I want to be a year from now as an
indication that my dream life is growing now?”. Then, ask
the same question for the two year mark. Think in terms
of your dream being a progression of your life as you live
your daily routine.
Create very specific images that reflect an event. This single event is an indication
that you are on your way. For example, if your dream is to be a New York Times
bestseller, you may create an image where you receive an acceptance letter from a
publisher after you sent your proposal. Then your second image may be where your
publisher calls you to tell you that your book hit the bookstore shelves. Your third
image may be of you seeing your name on the book list in the New York Times as you
scream in delight with your hubby or best friend. With each one, you are literally
sensorizing those images where you make it feel so real to you.
These images guide your steps and they train your whole being to see this as your
normal. Not only are you taking the steps towards your dream, but you are learning
how to allow yourself to have this much more good in your life.
And as you move forward in the journey, there will be benchmarks along the way that
indicate that you are headed in the right direction. Define a key benchmark moment
for one year from now and two years from now as the person living your dream.
When you see yourself achieving these benchmark moments, you know you are well
on your way toward living your dream life.
Once you have a one year plan in place, you can then begin to back it up even more and
define what you would love to accomplish in six months from now, three months
from now and even one month from now. This will help you begin to see that there is
a progression; you build believing in it as you see yourself being the person living this
dream and you can begin to organize your actionsteps accordingly as well.
Keep in mind that even though you have created a plan to help organize your thinking
and your actions, Spirit may have something so much more magnificent in mind. Make
room for things to happen more quickly and of course easily. At the end of all of it,
write the words, “This or something even better still!”
