Alright, before you take your seat please arrange your

chairs properly and those students who are
nearsighted you can take your seats in front to see
our presentation on the screen.
(Students are sitting in their chair
comfortably)

Now, for our attendance when I call your name please

make a sound of your favorite animal.

Costañera, Keanne Mark

Judaya, Zydel
(Making a sound of their favorite animals.)
Lapawan, Jhastine

Lugatiman, Jomar

Alright, did I give you an assignment class?

None, ma’am.

Since none are you ready for our next lesson class?

Yes, ma’am.

To have a harmonious and organized discussion.

Please read our classroom rules in unison.

in all class activities with enthusiasm.

Here’s another thing when I say “Hands on top” you

will say “Everybody stop”. Okay, let’s try.

“Hands on top” Everybody stop!

Review

Alright, I know you are all excited about our new

lesson but let us have a review first.

Who remembers our lesson yesterday?

Yesterday, we tackled about

characterization.
Yes, Ubanan.

Very good! That’s right.

What is characterization? Characterization is the process by which

the writer reveals the personality of a
character.

Correct! Characterization is the process by which the

writer reveals the personality of a character.

What are the 2 types of characterization? Indirect and direct characterization ma’am.
Yes, Lugatiman.

Very Good! That’s right.

Motivation

Before we move on to our new lesson, I have here an

incentive chart called “Trim the Tree: Earn .
Decorations as You Shine!”.

In every activity we will have there will be

corresponding points, you will earn Christmas
decorations. This will be the equivalent points of the
Christmas decorations.

=10 points

= = 7 points

= 5 points

= 3 points

Now, I will divide you into 3 groups.

Please count 1,2,3, 1, 2, 3

Okay, thank you. Group 1 you will sit in the left side,
Group 2 at the middle and Group 3 at the right side.

Now class look at this picture.

What does the character try to show? Or what
He is confused about which direction to
can you say about him? take.

Yes! Precisely! The boy is quite confused

about which direction he is going to take. He

needs to choose between those ways so he

has to make a decision.

How about this?

The boy is struggling with how he will

stop his parents from arguing.

Yes! The child is confused and struggling

with how he will stop his parents from

arguing or fighting.

And, how about this?

The area is flooded

Absolutely! The area is flooded and the

civilians badly need help. Good thing, the

rescuers are there to help them.

Okay, so after seeing those 3 pictures, let’s

have some guessing game. You need to guess
these words and/or phrases that are
particularly associated with the pictures I
have shown a while back.
1. One word. Starts with the letter P,
ends with the letter M and consists of
7 letters.
PROBLEM
PROBLEM
2. One word. Starts with the letter S,
ends with the letter E, and consists of
8 letters.
STRUGGLE
STRUGGLE
3. A two-word phrase. Starts with O and
F, ends with G and S. First word
consists of 8 letters, and the second
word consists of 6.
OPPOSING FORCES
OPPOSING FORCES
4. One word. Starts with T and ends with
N with 7 letters.
TENSION
TENSION

Now, using these 3 words and 1 phrase, can

you sum them up to come up with only one

word? It begins with the letter C and ends

with T, consisting of 8 letters.
