MURANG’A COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Murang’a County Government Internship Program is a government youth programme whose main
objective is to offer college graduates the opportunity to gain hands on experience and build skills in
order to enhance their chances for employment, networking and entrepreneurship.

The Murang’a County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons as
interns’ under the county internship programme indifferent specializations as indicated below.

1. 200 ECDE teachers Certificate and above 10,000

2. 70 Nurses Diploma and above 30,000

3. 10 ICT Graduates degree 20,000

4. 20 Medical Laboratory Technologist Diploma and above 20,000

5. 4 Quantity Surveyors -Two diploma holders. 20,000

-Two degree holders

6. Architect degree 20,000

7. 50 Vocational training center Certificate ,Diploma 15,000


instructors and above

8. 1 Counsellor Degree in counseling 20,000


and/or related fied

9 35 positions in any other degree Degree 20,000


Murang,a County Government is an equal opportunity employer. However, as per policies passed by
Murang’a County Assembly which underpin these internship programmes preference will be given to
Murang’a Residents whilst adhering to principle of regional balance.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to an internship position a candidate must:

 Be a Kenyan citizen not over the age of 35 years


 Be an unemployed graduate from a recognized training institution who has completed a
certificate, diploma or a degree course in the last five years or less, in the relevant field.
 Not have benefited from a similar internship program or been exposed to work experience
related to their area of study since graduating.
 Not have exited from formal employment.

Internship Duties and responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

I. Completing duties mutually agreed upon and assigned by the supervisors:


II. Documenting relevant skills acquired in their areas of deployment: and
III. Actively participating in any relevant mentorship activities and additional responsibilities
designed for the programme.

NB The general interns will be deployed as programme ward coordinators for the Murang’a
County Youth services

Duration of internship

Twelve (12) months Non-renewable

Stipend

The Interns will be paid a stipend at a rate as determined by the County Government.

All Applications for internship should be supported by the applicant’s university/college or related
institution’s records/certificates/transcripts.

NOTE

 INCOMPLETE applications will not be considered; and


 Only short-listed candidates will be contacted.
