 ABSTRACT
In more than 10 years ago people have been wearing beautiful official wears which has been
made from fabrics such as Canadian ,satin and more others.
With the increase in invention of different types of fabrics , many ladies have got the idea of
sewing different designs from different materials . Which has a result ground the fashion
industry.
It has been long journey for designers who choose to sew dresses since each and every day new
styles emerge and many people tend to like and embrace them .
Due to above reasons , I have decided to take part in sewing an official dress since it is
marketable and so many people are buying . Improved technology has also pushed many
designers in creating and innovating new designs each and every day .

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND INFORMATION

An official wear is a garment worn by anyone in an office There are different designs depending
on what one wishes to put on or who she is meeting .Each and every single person has their own
color preferences that makes them comfortable and more good looking. Most people tend to
wear short long,or medium . Dresses depending on their taste and preference on different designs
of garment. An official wear should have different colours which makes the wearer comfortable
and beautiful . It has come to my mind to sew an official dress for my project because I like the
appearance of the garment and since it's not only worn for official occasions but can also be
worn in a place of worship

1.2 OBJECTIVES
The following are the objectives of this project
1. To be the best designer and fashion stylist in official dress and other garment
2. To create job opportunities whereby I'll train students on how to go about official wear in
the industry
3. To improve creativity whereby there will be free introduction of new designs
4. To grow the fashion industry by working with the aim of promoting products and create
new ideas among people .

CHAPTER TWO

2.1 LITERATURE REVIEW

As years goes by , fashion industry tend to grow bigger each and every day and people
are coping with new designs . Internet has played a bigger role in helping people to
explore widely , learn new designs and create bigger minds in helping the industry.
In addition to that , ladies wear is the most popular in the industry compared to gents
wear and children's wear this has been a trigger in competition that we see nowadays . Of
late different fabrics were introduced which are luxurious , affordable from different
countries and this has attracted most women in designing endlessly .
Each and every day ,new designs and new fabrics are introduced ,also there is a blend of
different materials which results in strong and quality , durable materials . This has
helped in the growth of the industry so that women also feel comfortable in wearing those
garment

3.0 METHODOLOGY

3.1 MEASUREMENTS
Shoulder 15cm

Burst. 34cm

Waist. 29cm

Hips 41cm

Full-length 41cm

Sleeve 15.5 by 12 cm

Bodice 17 cm

3.2 PROCEDURE OF MAKING
1. Take body measurement as required and above were the measurements taken
2. Sketch the design on a piece of plain paper
3. Draft the design on a brown paper whereby I begun with the bodies pieces for back then
front
4. Draft the down part which is a straight skirt
5. Draft out pattern for 3/4 sleeve
6. Trace out each of the patterns to the fabric considering the details on the final patterns
7. Cut the traced patterns
8. Start sewing the front and back dart
9. Attach the straight part on the bodice
10. Attach the sleeves on each side of the armscye
11. Do the hemming and overlock the edges
12. Iron the garment and park properly

4.3. FINDINGS

As it has been common to many ladies who have been wearing dresses for their official
occasions, can also change and taste these new trends of long dresses which fits the body nicely
and allows the wearer to move around freely. It is also a way of expressing good morals in the
society.

4.4 RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that people embrace waring official dresses for the following reasons

 It makes them look present

 It is durable and can serve client for a long time
 It can be worn in different occasions such as parties
 New fashion trends are introduced every day
