Job Summary:

As a Lead/Staff Engineer at OpenGov, you will develop top-tier SaaS solutions that enhance
efficiency, transparency, and accountability in government agencies. As a crucial part of our
engineering team, you'll lead and deliver new features and improvements in a fast-paced, agile
environment, utilizing modern technologies such as C#, React, and .NET Core. We seek a driven
individual who excels in a collaborative setting and can effectively manage their time across
different time zones while working with our North American R&D team. Strong communication and
collaboration skills are essential for maintaining the highest standards.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to design, implement, and optimize complex applications for
performance and scalability while tackling unique technical challenges. Success in this position will
rely on your ability to work closely with product, UX, and platform engineers and your capacity to
execute tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

● Provide leadership and technical guidance to ensure the development of resilient, scalable
SaaS applications.
● Drive alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
● Elevate the engineering and operational standards across teams by setting the bar for best
practices.
● Cultivate customer empathy to ensure that the solutions exceed customer expectations.
● Own and implement the vision for the overall architecture, applying best practices, design
patterns, and continuously simplifying the system landscape.
● Take ownership of defining, measuring, and reporting operational metrics.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

● BA/BS in a computer science-related field or equivalent experience required.


● 12+ years of experience in developing highly scalable cloud-native applications.
● Proficiency in C# and .NET Core.
● Proficiency in JavaScript, ReactJS or other modern UI frameworks
● Strong knowledge of data structures, database concepts, algorithms, and observability.
● Familiarity with event-driven architecture.
