HEALTH HAZARDS

Threshold Limited Value: See Chemical Ingredient Section on page 1.

Styrene Monomer: Direct contact with this material may cause minimal eye and skin irritation. Acute inhalation
overexposure to styrene vapor may cause headache, nausea, fatigue, central nervous
system depression and irritation of the nose and throat.

Inert Additives: Direct contact with these materials may cause temporary drying effects on skin, and inert
foreign body in eyes. These materials are to be treated as an inert nuisance dust. Acute
overexposure may cause a temporary effect or irritation of mucous membranes.

Reinforcement: Direct contact with fibrous glass may cause temporary skin, eye, and upper respiratory
irritation.

Vinyl Toluene: Direct contact with this material may cause slight eye abd skin irritation. Acute
overexposure to vinyl toluene may cause dizziness, drowsiness, central nervous system
depression and irritation of the nose and throat.

Health Effects of Compound as a Mixture:

Direct contact to the molding compound may cause skin irritation. Avoid skin contact by use of gloves. Although
brief skin contact to styrene may not cause irritation, a skin rash may occur from prolonged or repeated exposure of
unprotected skin. Overexposure to vapors of compound may cause the same symptoms as listed under styrene
monomer.

Chronic Exposure:
Repeated or prolonged exposure that exceeds the Permissible Exposure Limit may result in irritation of the upper
respiratory tract, functional disorders of the nervous system, hematological changes and/or liver damage.

Chemicals Listed as a Carcinogen or Potential Carcinogen:

Styrene is currently regulated by OSHA as an "avoidance of narcosis". National Toxicology Program does not classify
styrene as being a carcinogen. International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies styrene as a Group 2B,
"possibly carcinogenic to humans". This is being challenged by International Toxicology experts. IARC is a research
organization with set study priorities, and not a regulatory agency.

Emergency and First Aid Procedures:

If unconscious, remove to fresh air and seek medical attention.

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET
FIRE and EXPLOSION HAZARDS
Flash Point:

This material was analyzed by test methods found in 16 CFR 1500.44. Results indicated that the
compound would temporarily ignite when heated, but would not sustain a flame.

Flammable Limits in Air (% Volume):

Not established

Estinguishing Media:

Foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical or water spray

Auto Ignition Temperature:

Not determined.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards:

Not applicable

Special Fire Fighting Equipment:

Chemically resistant, impervious shoes or boots. Other protective clothing, personal protective equipment that
would prevent skin contact and inhalation in an emergency situation.

PHYSICAL HAZARDS
Stability:
Stable

Conditions to Avoid:

High temperatures (over 75 degrees Fahrenheit) or exposure to direct sunlight for extended time periods will
cause a non-violent crosslinking and shorten shelf life.
Hazardous Polymerization:

Non-violent chemical crosslinking occurs upon maturation.

Hazardous Decomposition Products:

Carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide may occur during thermal decomposition.

Special Precautions Spill/Leak

Steps to be Taken in Case of a Spill:

Re-wrap in original container

Waste Disposal Methods:

The molding compound is not regulated as being hazardous under federal RCRA or DOT regulations. Disposal
must be made in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Special Protection Information
Respiratory Protection:
Where concentrations are below the PEL/STEL, no respiratory protection is required. If PEL or
STEL is exceeded use a repirator approved by NIOSH/MSHA for vapor and level of exposure.

Eye Protection: ANSI Z.87.1, with unvented side shields

Protective Gloves: Cotton or vinyl impregnated cotton gloves

Industrial Hygiene: Maintain good industrial hygiene practices by thoroughly washing skin with soap and water prior
to eating, drinking, or smoking.

Ventilation: Provide general dilution or local exhaust ventilation that maintains vapor levels below the PEL/STEL.

Storing and Handling Information

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing:

Store below 75 degrees Fahrenheit, in a well ventilated area. Do not transfer to unmarked containers.

Special Precautions:

This product is packaged in impermeable bags to prevent vapor loss. Close tightly after partial use to aid in
maximum shelf life to maintain moldability.

Regulatory Information

RCRA

Not regulated as a federal hazardous waste. Styrene is regulated as a hazardous waste in California. Check with state
and local regulations prior to disposal.

California Proposition 65
None of the chemicals listed are present in the product as manufactured. However, styrene, which is present in this
product, in the presence of air and high temperature, or prolonged exposure to air and sunlight, can react to form trace
quantities of styrene oxide. Styrene oxide is a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer.
