Sirve para indicar acciones breves que entran en medio de una acción continua

¿Para qué sirve “while”?

Sirve para indicar acciones más largas que se superponen con otras acciones continuas, es
decir, que todavía no terminan.

Ejemplos:

Usando "When":

1. When I got home, it was already dark.

2. I was having dinner when they arrived.

Usando "While":

1. While I was reading, my sister called.

2. He was cooking while the doorbell rang.
