For External Inventors, NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the affiliated
institute/university/Industry/lab etc. is mandatory for each individual inventor and their respective
topic. For NOC, format is attached below.
To implement fingerprint and eye biometric recognition to ensure only authorized users
can unlock the bike.
To provide quick, keyless access for a seamless, user-friendly experience for the users.
Will combine fingerprint and eye biometrics for stronger security and reduced risk of
unauthorized access in computer version.
Use tamper-resistant mechanisms to reduce theft risks compared to traditional locks.
Fingerprint and iris scanners with embedded processors for secure data processing.
Controlled via Bluetooth/NFC, powered by the bike's system, with encrypted
communication.
Current bike locking systems primarily rely on mechanical keys or digital PINs, which are
susceptible to theft and unauthorized access. Implement dual biometric verification
(fingerprint and iris recognition) alongside a PIN option for user convenience. If
authentication fails after multiple attempts, a mild electric shock will deter unauthorized
access. This project combines both biometric techniques, addressing security gaps and
enhancing user experience, thus presenting a novel approach in the realm of bike security
solutions.
D. DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
1.System Overview:
The system integrates two biometric identification methods:
Fingerprint Recognition: This captures and authenticates the unique fingerprint patterns of
the user.
Eye Biometric Scanning: This could involve either iris or retina recognition, scanning the
user's eye for a detailed biometric match. Upon successful verification of both biometrics, the
system unlocks the bike, granting access to the authorized user.
Microcontroller/Processor: A central unit processes and verifies the collected biometric data.
It compares the input data with stored biometric information to decide whether to grant
access.
Power Supply: A battery or rechargeable system will power the biometric system. It could be
solar-powered or include low-power consumption technology to ensure longevity.
Motorized Lock Mechanism: Once the user is authenticated, a motorized lock mechanism
disengages, allowing the user to unlock and use the bike.
Data Storage: The system will store biometric templates securely in a database, either locally
in the bike or connected to a cloud server for multi-device access.
3.Functionality:
User Interaction: The user places their finger on the fingerprint scanner and looks into the
eye scanner.
Data Capture: The system captures the fingerprint and eye biometric data.
Data Matching: The collected data is compared to the stored templates. If both fingerprints
and eye scans match, the system proceeds to unlock.
Multi-Factor Authentication: The system ensures a high level of security by requiring two
biometric factors (fingerprint and eye recognition) for authentication.
Unlocking: Upon successful verification, the motorized lock disengages, allowing the user to
access the bike.
4.Security Features:
Tamper-Resistant Design: The system will have protection mechanisms to detect and resist
tampering. For instance, if unauthorized attempts to bypass the lock are detected, the system
can alert the user via a connected app.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): By combining both fingerprint and eye biometrics, the
system reduces the risk of unauthorized access. Even if one biometric feature is
compromised, the second factor ensures robust security.
Encryption: All biometric data is encrypted, ensuring that even if the data storage is
compromised, it remains unreadable and secure.
5.Benefits:
Enhanced Security: The use of biometric data, specifically the combination of fingerprint and
eye recognition, ensures that only authorized users can unlock the bike. This makes the
system much harder to bypass than traditional locks.
Convenience: Users no longer need to carry physical keys or remember lock combinations.
The bike unlocks swiftly with a simple scan, providing an effortless experience.
User Personalization: The system can recognize individual users and adjust bike settings,
such as seat height or handlebar position, based on personal preferences.
Theft Deterrence: The advanced biometric authentication significantly reduces the likelihood
of bike theft, offering a stronger deterrent compared to conventional locks.
Durability and Low Maintenance: As a digital system, there are no mechanical keys or
components that wear out easily, making the system more durable and requiring less
maintenance.
E. RESULTS AND ADVANTAGES:
Enhanced Security: Dual-factor biometric authentication (fingerprint and eye
scan) ensures only authorized users can unlock the bike, significantly reducing theft
risk.
Convenient Keyless Access: Provides quick, hands-free bike unlocking without
the need for physical keys or combinations.
Personalized User Experience: Recognizes individual users, enabling automatic
adjustments to bike settings for comfort and convenience.
Theft Deterrence: Tamper-resistant design and advanced security features make
the system difficult for thieves to bypass.
Low Maintenance and Durability: With fewer mechanical components, the
system offers long-lasting reliability and minimal maintenance.
F. EXISTING DATA:
Biometric Security: Fingerprint and eye recognition are widely used in
secure devices like smartphones and access control systems.
Multi-Factor Authentication: Combining fingerprint and eye recognition
strengthens security and reduces unauthorized access.
Keyless Vehicle Access: Similar systems are used in cars, showing a trend
toward convenience and tech-driven vehicle entry.
Tamper-Resistant Locks: Existing smart locks use tamper resistance to
prevent unauthorized access, enhancing theft deterrence.
User Personalization: Personalization based on user profiles is common in
smart devices, improving usability and comfort.
