Begin with classroom routine:

 Greet students warmly and establish a positive learning


environment.
Pre-Reading 30 mins
 Review the previous lesson or story.
 Introduce the new story, "Volcano of Love and Death," and
generate interest by asking questions like:
What do you know about volcanoes?
What do you think a story about love and death in a volcanic
setting might be about?
.  Distribute copies of the short story.
 Instruct students to read silently and independently.
 Encourage them to underline or highlight important details.
During Reading 110 mins  Provide opportunities for students to reread difficult passages.
 Walk around the room to monitor students' reading progress
and provide support as needed.

Progress 30 mins Divide students into small groups.


Monitoring  Guide students in discussing the following:
through What happened in the story?
Reflection and What characters were involved?
Sharing What were the main problems or conflicts?
How were the problems resolved?
What did you learn from the story?
 Facilitate a whole-class sharing of insights and discoveries.

 Ask students to reflect on their reading experience in their

 Provide positive reinforcement for students' efforts and
participation.
