Topic: REFUSE TO BE A FAILURE.
(15 Mins.)
God did not create you to be a mediocre. Your redemption in Christ makes you a man or a woman
of value. You are not to be pitied - Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose. Most people who are successful today have failed in time past but they reacted against it,
and they have turned to be successful men and women. There is room for you at the top. It is
when you put up little or no fight against bad circumstances that you end up failing. Success is a
process; a moment-by-moment movement towards a desired goal while failure is simply an event
along the line. If you want to make a mark in life, you must be prepared to go beyond the average.
Some Practical Steps That Will Bring You Out of Failure
1. Forget your past failures - Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV) 13 Brethren, I count not myself to
have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Failure is an event, not a person. The past is gone;
Learn from the past; live in the present and look forward to the future.
2. React against failure - 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 (KJV) 9 And Jabez was more honourable than
his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed,
and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep
me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Reaction gives birth to a revolution. Get rid of that situation rather than being intimidated by it.
Don’t allow your last failure weigh you down.
3. Be a creative thinker - Luke 15:17-18 (KJV) 17 And when he came to himself, he said, How
many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with
hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned
against heaven, and before thee. Think out positive ways on succeeding over those challenges
of life.
4. Follow the law of observation – 1 Timothy 5:21 (KJV) I charge thee before God, and the
Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring
one before another, doing nothing by partiality. Find out what others are doing to succeed. Ask
questions in line with God’s word. Listen to people ahead of you who have made it in life. Learn
their principles.
5. Comply with instructions - 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of
God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness. Instructions are to be carried out and not just to be written down.
Apply what you have observed. Change your pattern. Think through study materials. In case you
have failed before, try again and if you apply what you have learnt you are bound to get results.
Say to yourself “I refuse to be a failure”.

everything that comes with salvation. I am immune to sickness, disease, plague, and
death. I receive divine health, supernatural strength, long-useful life, etc. in the name
of Jesus Christ!
