country, with the theme – BHARAT! Through this theme, we honour
and celebrate the diverse and profound legacy of India – one of the
world’s oldest civilizations, woven together with countless traditions,
languages, arts and cultures that span thousands of years.

Bharat is more than just a name, it is a sentiment, a tapestry of


stories, an ever-pulsing heartbeat that resonates with history,
diversity and unity. In every corner of our land, there are tales of
valour and wisdom, creativity and spirituality, each contributing to
a mosaic that makes India truly exceptional.

As you step onto our campus, you’ll be transported into the sights,
sounds, and flavours of India. Immerse yourself in the art forms that
span millennia—whether it’s the expressive movements of Kathak,
the dynamic beats of Dhol, or the mesmerizing rhythms of Odissi.
Our fest will be a living, breathing celebration of the dances,
music and stories that have been passed down from one generation
to the next, with each beat and step connecting us to our roots.

Mega Event -
The Great Indian Dynasties

The Mega Event of SARGAM 2024 – The Great Indian Dynasties, promises to
be an enthralling journey through time, to relive the glories and triumphs
of India’s greatest Kings and Queens. With performances that spotlight the
grandeur and legacy of India’s most powerful dynasties, this theme aims to
bring the history of our incredible country to life through the art of dance.

Participants will portray the splendour, achievements, and iconic moments


of dynasties like the Maurya, Guptas, Sisodiyas, Cholas, Chahamanas and
Kitturs to name a few. From the battlefield triumphs of warrior kings to the
architectural wonders of royal courts, each performance will capture a
unique aspect of India’s dynastic past, expressed through different dance
forms. The event will be a vivid reminder of India’s centuries-long legacy of
art, culture, valour, and spirituality.

From the warrior spirit of the Marathas to the architectural marvels of the
Cholas, the event will allow dancers to explore these dynasties through
different dance forms.
This event is more than a performance, it is a tribute to the timeless spirit
of India and its enduring cultural heritage.

Note:
The event will be hosted in two categories:
• Category 1 – New Horizon Colleges
- Prize: 1st Place - 1,00,000/-
• Category 2 – All other Colleges
- Prize: 1st Place - 1,00,000/-
- Prize: 2nd Place - 50,000/-
Mega Event - The Great Indian Dynasties
• Rating :
• Registration fee : 2,500/-

• Category : Common

Rules:
• The performance should be a dance showcasing the story
(achievements/triumphs/cultural or spiritual legacy/ iconic moments) of a
certain King, Kings, Queen or Queens of one particular Indian Dynasty.
• The participants must choose any one of the following Dynasties to perform on:
The Maratha Empire | Chahamana Dynasty | Sisodiya Dynasty | Maurya Dynasty
The Pauravas | Chalukya Empire | Peshwa Dynasty | Chola Dynasty |
Chowta Dynasty | Kittur Dynasty | Gupta Dynasty

• Time Limit: 8+2 minutes (including stage setup).


• Team Size: Minimum of 10 and a Maximum of 20 members.
• Any sort of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
• Not performing on one of the above listed Dynasties, will lead to disqualification.
• One representative of the performing team should be present at the DJ
console during their team’s performance.
• Teams are required to bring good quality music in MP3 format in a
PENDRIVE and a backup copy should be submitted to the coordinator at
least One Day before the event.
• If the team wishes to use the LED screen as a backdrop, they must inform the event
co-ordinator of the same at least one week before the event and ensure that team’s
visuals are of the correct dimension. The visuals must be submitted to the event
coordinator at least one day before the event.
• The decision of the judges will be final.
• Only one team from each college is allowed to participate.
• Dangerous props are not allowed.
• In case of registrations exceeding the maximum

Bringing together a vibrant mix of traditional dance forms, each reflecting a


unique slice of history, culture, and emotion. From the grace of Karnataka's
Yakshagana and the lively folk dances of Rajasthan to the lyrical beauty of
Odisha's Odissi, this event celebrates India's unity in diversity.

Rules:
• The Performance should feature a dance form from any one Indian State.
• Team Size: Minimum of 6 and a Maximum of 12 members.
• Time Limit: 5+2 minutes (including stage setup).
• Any sort of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
• One representative of the performing team should be present at the
console during their team performance.
• Teams are required to bring good quality music in MP3 format in a

is all about expressing yourself, telling stories through dance, and enjoying the
freedom to move in your way. Get ready to bring out your energy, creativity,
and passion!

• Team Size: Minimum of 6 and a Maximum of 12 members.
• Time limit: 5+1 minutes (including stage setup).
• Any sort of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
• One representative of the performing team should be present
at the console during their team performance.
• Teams are required to bring good quality music in MP3 format in a

celebrate the rich and diverse heritage of Bharat. Present yourselves in our country’s
stunning attires from different regions, showcasing the opulence and timeless
beauty of Indian fashion.

• Team Size: Minimum of 8 and a Maximum of 14 members.
• Time limit: 6+2 minutes (including stage setup).
• The fashion show should showcase the diverse cultures, traditions, and
contemporary fashion trends of India.
• Participants can choose to represent different regions, traditional outfits,
state, fusion styles, or modern interpretations of Indian fashion.
• Participants must design or curate outfits that reflect the chosen
Indian theme.
• Participants should ensure that their outfits respectfully represent the
culture or region they are depicting.
• Appropriate accessories and props that complement the outfits are
allowed and encouraged.
• Participants should prepare a brief walk or presentation highlighting
their outfit’s features and significance. This may include a short description,
commentary or voice over.

• Time Limit: 5 minutes.
• Language: English.
• Theme: Unsung Heroes of India.
• The content of the short film should be original and should not be copied
from any source.
• Obscenity and vulgarity of any kind will lead to disqualification.
• Submission will be disqualified if it has already been posted on any
social media channels.
• Judgement is based on Storytelling, Cinematography, and Screenplay.
• Judge’s decision will be final.

An electrifying musical showdown, battling for the ultimate glory at Sargam.


In this ultimate clash of talent, music does the talking and brings the stage
to life with powerful performances. Bring on the unstoppable energy to the
stage where rhythm meets rivalry!

Rules:
• The event is open only to college bands.
• Team Size: Minimum of 4 and a Maximum of 10 members.
• Time limit: 4+2 minutes (2 minutes for sound check).
• An individual can be a part of only one band (playing for more than
one band would lead to immediate disqualification).
• Synthesized beats and pre-recorded music are not allowed.
• Kannada/Hindi/English or Fusion is allowed.
• Original compositions are much appreciated.
• Explicit or offensive lyrics/gestures/misconduct will lead to
disqualification from the competition.
• Only a standard 5-piece drum kit, microphones and amplifiers
will be provided.
• Drummers can carry their Cymbals and stands, if necessary.
• Teams will be selected strictly on the basis of demo tape and it should be
sent to the coordinator by 21st November 2024.

Each team will perform a choreographed routine that blends three or more
Indian songs from different languages, regions, or states, creating a seamless
tapestry of India’s cultural heritage.

Participants will captivate the audience as they transition from the energetic
beats of Punjabi Bhangra to the graceful moves of Tamil Bharatanatyam,
and then perhaps to the lively rhythms of Marathi Lavani, all in one
exhilarating performance.

Rules:
• Team Size: Minimum of 6 and a Maximum of 12 members.
• Time Limit: 5+1 minutes (including stage setup).
• Any sort of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
• One representative of the performing team should be present at the
console during their team performance.

performances, engage the public in the open-air ambience.

Rules:
• The play should reflect the spirit, challenges and triumphs of Bharat.
From stories of unity, to cultural celebrations and contemporary social
issues that resonate with the youth, the performance must showcase
the essence of India. Whether highlighting the beauty of India's languages,
the richness of traditions, or the resilience of its people, every act must
convey a facet of Bharat.
• Team Size: Minimum of 6 and a Maximum of 15 members.
• Time Duration: 12+3 minutes (including stage setup).
• Original scripts are encouraged, though adaptations are allowed with
proper credits.
• The play should be performed in Hindi, English, or Kannada.
• Use of minimal props and costumes is encouraged to maintain the
authentic spirit of street theatre.
• No electrical equipment allowed. Collar mics will be given to all the participants.
All sounds and music should be LIVE.
• Any form of vulgarity, obscenity, or derogatory language will lead to disqualification.
• Teams are responsible for cleaning the area after their performance.

Here’s your opportunity to entertain the audience with circus acts like juggling,
acrobatics, magic, clowning, and more. Demonstrate your talent, bring
the circus feel to the stage, and emerge as the ultimate talent.

Rules:
• It should be a solo act. No external assistance, including backup performers,
stagehands, or spotters is allowed during the performance.
• Usage of animals is strictly prohibited.
• Time Duration: 3-5 minutes.
• The act can include any circus-related skill, such as juggling, acrobatics,
magic, clowning, balancing acts, or a combination of these.
(No aerial acts are permitted)
• All equipment and props must be carried by the participant.
• Music, if used, must be pre-recorded and submitted in advance.
Live music or instruments are not allowed.
• Costumes should be appropriate and must enhance the performance,
aligning with the act's theme.
• Participants should ensure their acts are safe for both themselves and the
audience.
• All performances must comply with the venue's safety regulations and
guidelines.

A Painting Competition

precision in this intricate art form. Miniature painting, with its rich history
rooted in various cultures, particularly in India, offers participants a unique
opportunity to create stunning artworks on a small scale, emphasizing detail,
colour, and storytelling.

Participants can draw inspiration from diverse themes, including traditional


folklore, temples, Indian history, festivals, spirituality, etc. Each piece should
reflect the artist’s unique perspective while honouring the techniques and
styles of miniature painting.

Rules:
• Every participant will be given a 4 inch x 4 inch mini canvas to work with.
• All the painting materials, i.e., paint, brushes, pens, pencils, water bowl, etc,
must be brought by the participant.
• Time Limit: 2 hours.
• Theme: Bharat.
• Judging Criteria: Creativity & Originality, Technical Skills, Adherence to
Theme, Colour Harmony, Emotional Impact and Composition & Layout.

Capture the essence through storytelling, music, and visuals in a short reel.
Whether it's culture, tradition, or modernity, express your vision in just
60 seconds and let your reel do the talking!

Rules:
• This is a solo event.
• As per reel format, the video should be made vertically, not horizontally.
• The reel video must be 30-60 seconds long.
• The reel must be an original creation.
• Existing trends can only be used as inspiration. Plagiarized content will
lead to disqualification.
• Any offensive, name-calling, derogatory remarks, and/or regional slang
towards any person or community, indecency will lead to disqualification.
• Theme will be provided on the first day of the fest.
• Presentation of the reel will be on the 30th of November.
• The video can be taken anywhere in the campus based on the background
idea, but not in the classroom, staff room, and labs.

debate? With only seconds to adapt, you debate both sides of a coin.
This is a battle of wits, where quick thinking reigns supreme! Argue for
and against the same and showcase your versatility.

Rules:
• This is a solo event.
• Time limit
• 1st round: FOR (1.5 minutes) and AGAINST (1.5 minutes)
• Final Round: FOR (3 minutes) and AGAINST (3 minutes)
• At any point in time, while speaking, the participant could be asked to
turncoat in the final round.
• A maximum of 3 such switches will be asked of the speaker.
• Judgement would be based on content, clarity of expression,
confidence, transition of argument and other parameters.

General Guidelines for Participants
• All the performing participants will have access to the concert free of charge. (Strictly for participants only)

• Junior Category - 11th/12th or PUC | Senior Category - Any Degree Course.

• All correspondence is to be done with the respective event coordinator.

• All participants should register for the respective events once they enter the campus without fail.

• All participants should carry their respective College ID cards for identification purposes.

• Registration can be done through volunteers visiting various colleges or through online registration.

• On the spot registration will be open from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM (Solo events only).

• Participants should follow a strict code of conduct and maintain discipline on campus.

• Smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages, carrying sharp objects are strictly prohibited.

• Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant for misconduct or not adhering to the rules.

• The decision of the judges is final, and all participants are required to abide by it.

• Obscenity and vulgarity of any kind will lead to disqualification.

• Dangerous props are not allowed.

• New Horizon Knowledge Park rules will apply to all participants while on campus.

• The organizer reserves the right to re-schedule, modify the prize money & cancel any event or events due to technical reasons or

lack of participants.

• Organizer is not responsible for your belongings.

• Teams are required to bring good quality music in MP3 format on a PENDRIVE, and a backup copy should be submitted hours

before the event to the respective coordinator.

• LED screen will be provided on the main stage & participants can provide graphics for their performance.

• Accommodation and food will be arranged for outstation participants.
