1.

Conservator:
o The conservator acts as an expansion vessel for the transformer oil.
It accommodates the expansion and contraction of the oil due to
temperature changes.
2. Buchholz Relay:
o A safety device that detects gas build-up and sudden oil
movements in the transformer, indicating possible faults such as
insulation failure or internal arcing.
3. Pressure Release Device:
o This device relieves excess pressure inside the transformer,
preventing damage due to overpressure.
4. Oil Level Indicator:
o Monitors the oil level in the conservator tank, ensuring there's
sufficient oil for proper cooling and insulation.
5. Explosion Valve (Diaphragm):
o A safety device that allows for the safe release of oil in case of an
internal explosion, preventing the transformer tank from rupturing.
6. Temperature Gauge:
o Measures the temperature of the transformer oil or winding, helping
to monitor and prevent overheating.
7. Cooling Tubes:
o These tubes allow the transformer oil to cool down by circulating it
around the transformer and releasing heat to the surrounding air.
8. L.T. Porcelain Bushes:
o Insulating components that provide a safe passage for low-tension
(low voltage) electrical connections into and out of the transformer.
9. Tap Changer (Manually Operated):
o A device that allows the adjustment of the transformer's voltage
ratio by changing the tap connections on the winding.
10.Oil Inlet Valve:
o Allows the addition of oil into the transformer tank.
11.Breather (Silica Gel):
o Prevents moisture from entering the transformer oil by absorbing
moisture from the air, thus maintaining the insulating quality of the
oil.
12.H.T. Terminal:
o High-tension (high voltage) terminal for connecting the transformer
to the high voltage side of the circuit.
13.Tank:
o The main body that houses the core, windings, and insulating oil of
the transformer.
14.Wheel:
o Allows the transformer to be moved or positioned as needed.
15.Oil Outlet Drain Cock:
o Used to drain the oil from the transformer during maintenance or oil
replacement.
16.Data Plate:
o Provides essential information about the transformer, such as its
rating, manufacturer, and serial number.
17.Earth:
o Provides grounding for safety, preventing electrical shocks and
ensuring any fault currents are safely discharged into the ground.
