Setting standards in VLSI Design
2. Follow the below steps to install and log into the ‘Sophos Connect :
Step 1: Open your preferred web browser like Google Chrome.
Step 3: You will get a warning that your connection may not be private.
Simply bypass this page by clicking on "ADVANCED" and then "Proceed to..." as
shown in the below screenshot.
Step 4: Log in with your existing VPN username and the default Password maven123
Note: You can change the default VPN password by following Step No 6
Step 5: You need to download two files from the portal as shown below. Make sure
you needto download both files.
2) Click on Take me to User Portal on the lower left corner of the VPN Portal.
3) Log in with your VPN user credentials. i.e. The VPN username and the default
Password maven123
Step 7: After both the setup files gets downloaded, install SophosConnect_2.3.0
(IPsec_and_SSLVPN) to start the setup.
Step 8: Read through the license agreement [Optional] and then click "I Agree" and
click on Install
Step 10: Once the installation process has been completed then mark the tick and click
"Finish"
Step 11: Now that you have the SSL Connect installed and you'll now want to
establish your connection. Access your hidden tray icons as shown in the below
screenshot. Right-Click onthe icon and click on Sophos Connect.
Step 12: Now you need to click on Import connection as shown below:
Step 13: Now select the configuration file (the second file which you have
downloaded) and click open as shown below:
Step 14: Once the configuration file has been imported, then click on Connect as
shown below:
Step 15: Login with the same VPN Username and new Password which you created
in Step6. Else if you have not changed the password then you can use the default
password as maven123. Also, you can tick the save username and password option
as well.
Step 16: Wait for a while and the connection will be initiated stating you have
successfully Connected through VPN as shown below:
3. When you open the application you will get the below home page:
4. Click on “Start local terminal” (Or you can see New session )
6. Run the below “ssh” command and give the password when prompted to log in to
the server as shown below, using your server login and password.
You should have already received your server login and password [Not the same as
VPN user login and password].If no, please contact us immediately at
[email protected]
Syntax: ssh –X your server username@server IP address>
Note: Your server username, server IP address shared already in the e-mail.
The server IP represented below is just an example for your reference.
Please login with the server IP shared with you.
For example, if you have been allotted server IP: 172.16.17.X and suppose if your
server username is user1 then:
7. After first login, you will be prompted to change the password, Kindly change the current
password which is shared and enter your new password with minimum length of 10
characters and login again with your new password.
8. After login, you will be in your home directory. Execute the “ls” command to see
the folders available in your home directory. Now, you can work on the Labs.
