Elisabete Weiderpass, MD, MSc, PhD, is the Director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the World Health Organization
(WHO)’s specialized cancer agency, based in Lyon, France. She took office in January 2019 and, in May 2023, was elected for a second, and final,
five-year term, commencing on 1 January 2024.
Dr Weiderpass is an expert in cancer epidemiology and cancer prevention, with a particular interest in cancer registration, the understanding of cancers
and the implementation of effective prevention strategies. She is the co-author of more than 1,000 scientific articles (ORCID: 0000-0003-2237-0128)
in peer-reviewed international journals. She is a member of the EU Mission Board for Cancer, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of Institut Gustave
Roussy (Paris, France), a member of the Governing Council of the Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (Inserm), (Paris, France),
a member of the Scientific Council of the Centre Léon Bérard (Lyon, France) and a Steering Committee member of the WHO Academy.

We are delighted to announce the paper presentation and surgical video competition as part of
the upcoming Apollo Cancer Conclave 2024, to be held from 8th to 10th November at Jio World
Convention Centre, Mumbai. This competition provides a unique opportunity for researchers,
clinicians, and students to showcase their work and contribute to the advancement of cancer
research and treatment.

ORAL PRESENTATION BEST VIDEO
Student Young Clinician
Eligibility: The competition is open to all clinicians / students / researchers / healthcare units
including hospitals / clinics / diagnostic centers, healthcare communication / technology
organizations, integrated public and private healthcare entities.

Submission Deadline: The deadline for abstract submission extended till 15th October 2024.
Submission Process:
• Abstracts to be submitted online only.
• Abstracts must be original and should not have been submitted / presented / intended for
presentation elsewhere before Apollo Cancer Conclave 2024.
• Individual / organization can submit more than one entry and can also apply for different
categories. Use a separate entry process for each paper.
• Abstracts must be Submitted as a Word document in the Abstract Form Link provided
below.
• Include the presenting author's full name, affiliation, email address, and contact number in
abstract form correctly.
ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
Abstract format:
• Abstracts must be written in English.
• Abstracts should not exceed 500 words.
• Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and single spacing.
• Include the following sections:
» Title
» Authors (including affiliations)
» Background
» Aim / Objectives
» Methodology
» Results
» Conclusion
• Entries in any other prepared format or with unfilled section(s) will not be evaluated.
Review process: All submitted abstracts will undergo review by the scientific committee.
Criteria for evaluation include scientific merit, clarity, originality, and relevance to the field of
cancer research and treatment. The decision of the scientific committee will be final.
Notification:
• An e-mail confirming the receipt of the abstract, including abstract number, will be sent to
the submitting delegate. This number should be quoted for all further correspondence.
• Shortlisted authors will be notified via email by 20th October 2024, along with further
instructions on presentation guidelines.
• All shortlisted authors will get free registration to the conference.
• Oral presentations will be scheduled in concurrent sessions during the conference.
At Apollo Cancer Conclave 2024 we will be running videos made and presented by the
delegates. The videos must highlight routine or innovative procedures, newer technique or
even examination of a patient.
Submission process:
• A written abstract must be submitted for evaluation explaining what the video is aiming to
demonstrate. The abstract must not exceed 150 words.
• Presenter has to submit the video after abstract acceptance. The format of video
presentation will be sent to presenter individually by our scientific committee after abstract
acceptance.
• The presenter should be a part of the team performing the given surgery.
• Manufacturer’s demo videos are not allowed and will mean automatic disqualification.
• Abstracts must be submitted as a Word document in the Abstract Form Link provided below.
• Include the presenting author's full name, affiliation, email address, and contact number in
abstract form correctly.
ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
Video format:
• File format should be .mp4. The duration should be 6 - 8 minutes. Maximum video size
allowed is 500 mb.
• The 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio is preferred. Please edit in the native format of your
camera if you can 4:3 is acceptable. However, please do not “stretch” your video.
• Patient Privacy: Identifying information, including patients' names, initials, or hospital
numbers, must not appear. This typically happens in pre and post-operative radiographs,
and MRIs. Written consent must be obtained from each person appearing in the work.
• The presenter will need to get the presentation and videos by pen drive or hard disk on the
day of competition.
Notification:
• An e-mail confirming the receipt of the abstract, including abstract number, will be sent to
the submitting delegate. This number should be quoted for all further correspondence.
• Shortlisted authors will be notified via email by 30th September 2024, along with further
instructions on presentation guidelines.
• All shortlisted authors will get free registration to the conference.
• Video presentations will be scheduled in concurrent sessions during the conference.
