End-of-Support Notice
Software Release End-of-Support
and Legacy Support and Availability Notice
Version 1.7, October 31, 2024
Overview
This document provides notification of upcoming and existing End-of-Support (EOS) and Legacy Support and Availability
(LSA) activity for Brocade® software releases. Notifications of End-of-Support for Brocade software products are not
included in this document. The objective is to assist customers and partners in making timely decisions to smoothly transition
from software releases that have reached EOS or LSA status to actively supported software versions according to the
published milestones.
This document covers major releases of Brocade Fabric OS® (FOS) and SANnav™, including both SANnav Management
Portal and SANnav Global, that have reached an EOS or LSA milestone event since 2014. The LSA and EOS milestone
events were first implemented in 2023, replacing the previous End-of-Availability (EOA) milestone event.
Software releases that have reached EOS are no longer available from Broadcom or Broadcom partners. Software releases
that have reached LSA are available and supported for a limited set of legacy platforms as noted. FOS release availability
for hardware platforms that have entered into their End-of-Life (EOL) phase can be found in the EOL Notification for that
platform.
For additional information on the hardware product EOL timeline and FOS EOA milestone event, please refer to the Brocade
Hardware Product End-of-Life and End-of-Support Policy document.

Appendix A: Definitions
General Availability (GA) Date
The GA date is the date on which the first software release for the given major release level was made generally available
to customers; for example, for the FOS v6.4.x release level, the date that FOS v6.4.0 was made available for download and
use.
EOS or LSA Notice Date
The partner and customer End-of-Support and/or Legacy Support and Availability notification begins the transition period.
During the 6-month transition period, this major software version will be supported as per the existing customer support
agreement.
EOS Date
After this date, Brocade, a Broadcom company, will no longer support or make available releases on this major version of
software. Customers are encouraged to begin transitioning to supported release versions in advance of this date to ensure
they are operating with the most secure and reliable software. In addition to this document, release versions that have
transitioned to EOS status are also noted in the Brocade Software Release Support and Posting Matrices document
available on Broadcom.com. The EOS milestone event for Brocade software releases was referred to as "End-of-
Availability" or EOA until 2023.
LSA Date (FOS Only)
In the case of a major FOS version that supports hardware platforms that cannot be upgraded to a supported major version,
the release transitions to Legacy Support and Availability (LSA) status instead of EOS. After the LSA date, the release is
only supported and made available on explicitly designated hardware platforms. These legacy hardware platforms are
typically in or near their End-of-Life period and availability of new FOS releases for a specific hardware platform depends on
the EOL timeline for that individual hardware platform. Please refer to individual hardware product EOL notifications for
additional details and information.
In addition to this document, release versions that have transitioned to LSA status are also noted in the Brocade Software
Release Support and Posting Matrices document available on Broadcom.com. The LSA milestone event for Brocade
software releases was introduced in 2023 to distinguish between a FOS release that has reached full EOS and one that
remains supported and available for legacy platforms only.
Compatibility (FOS Only)
Interoperability testing is not performed with software versions that have reached End-of-Support. Compatibility is not
guaranteed when operating fabrics with a combination of products using currently supported versions of software with those
using versions that have reached End-of-Support.
Migration Path
Customers are encouraged to migrate to currently supported software versions available for download from the Brocade
Customer Support Portal or Brocade partner assist sites. The current support and posting status for all releases of Brocade
software products is documented in the Brocade Software Release Support and Posting Matrices document available on
Broadcom.com.
