NMC Guidelines Clause 2 and 5
(A)
Note:*
(a) In cases of failure in one or more MBBS exams, the calculation of the total
marks obtained in the MBBS exam will be done by taking the average of the
failed and passing marks in the relevant subject.
(b) For candidates who have passed MBBS from recognized foreign
institutions, the calculation of their marks will be done by multiplying the
percentage of marks obtained in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination
Screening Test (FMGE) by a factor of 0.6

*Note:* In case of failure in any subject or subject group applied for, the
average of the failed and passing marks will be considered as the marks
obtained in the relevant subject.
(b) Ph.D., DM, M.Ch., and DNB (Super Specialty) in the same specialty - 10
marks
(c) Work experience in the government sector (2 marks per complete year,
maximum 10 marks) - 10 marks
Note:*
(i) Preference will be given to work experience in medical education in all
government/non-private (operated by the central government, panchayat,
municipal body) medical colleges/institutions recognized by NMC within Bihar
state. Work experience certificates issued by the competent authority
(Principal/Superintendent/Civil Surgeon/Director) will be valid. The list of
institutions for medical education work experience is available on the
Commission's website www.bpsc.bih.nic.in.
(ii) No marks will be allocated for MRCP, FRCS, etc., obtained after
11.11.1978.
(iii) One mark will be deducted for each failure in any of the MBBS
examinations. Candidates who have failed more than three times in these
examinations will not be eligible.
For a maximum of 10 marks, 2 marks for each publication in any All India
Medical Journal, which is the official organ of any All India Society or
Association, or in any foreign medical journal, which is the official organ
of a similar national or international society or association.
(vi) A year refers to each complete year, meaning a leap year (366 days) will be
considered equivalent to 365 days.
(vii) The degrees of MBBS, MD, MS, Ph.D., DM, DNB, MDS, M.Ch.
(Specialty) should be from colleges/institutions recognized by NMC.
(viii) Candidates must update all their degrees in the registration certificate
obtained from NMC or the State Medical Register or the National Medical
Register
