Dear Sachithra,

Congratulations on your new role at Essex County Council.

We are delighted to offer you the role of Customer Services Assistant subject to receipt of pre-employment
checks satisfactory to Essex County Council (ECC).

Details of your conditional appointment are summarised as follows:

Functional Area: Climate, Environment and Customer Services


Place of Work: Essex
Contract Type: Permanent
Appointment Type: Part Time
Hours of Work: 18.5 Per Week
Basic Salary on Appointment: £11,181 per annum
Pay Grade: HAYPP [I]
Conditions of Service: Local Government Conditions (Green book)
Holiday Entitlement: Starting from 26 Days (full-time equivalent). Further details to be confirmed in your
contract of employment, which will be issued to you following successful receipt of your pre-employment
checks. Holiday Entitlement will be calculated to include continuous service if applicable.
Pension Scheme: Details of the pension scheme will be included in your contract of employment.

Local agreements apply to some of ECC's conditions of service. For further details please review the general
terms and conditions selecting the appropriate contract type.
Your appointment with ECC is conditional upon the following:

Medical clearance from our Occupational Health Advisers that you are able to perform the duties of the
role
Receipt of references that are satisfactory to ECC
Proof of National Insurance Number
Proof of your identity/legal right to work in the UK
If necessary for the role, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check*
Additional safeguarding checks relevant to the role
Disclosure to ECC of all/any interests which may conflict with, or affect your ability to perform the duties,
carry out the responsibilities and/or fulfil the terms of the role

*You will be required to register with the DBS update service within 30 days of receiving your DBS clearance
(the cost of this can be reimbursed through an ECC expense claim)

When you formally accept your offer, you will be contacted by compliance to complete any required pre-
employment checks. At this point, you will also receive an email inviting you to join My Onboarding, a portal
which has a wealth of learning resources to bring ECC to life, showing you what it's like working with us and
what to expect in your first few months. Once your pre-employment checks have been satisfactorily completed,
your line manager will contact you to agree a start date and you will subsequently receive your formal contract
of employment.

And once you have started your new role, you will become part of our New Starter Community, through our
dedicated learning platform (My Learning), giving you the opportunity to connect with other new starters,
access even more learning resources, tasks and information to get you up to speed in your new role.
