Discussion:
In this experiment to verify Ohm's Law, the apparatus provided was suboptimal, which
significantly impacted the accuracy and reliability of our measurements. Key equipment,
including the resistances, ammeter, and voltmeter, did not appear to function as expected. For
instance, the ammeter and voltmeter failed to provide stable readings, making it difficult to
obtain consistent measurements of current and voltage across the circuit. Additionally, the
resistors exhibited fluctuating resistance, further complicating efforts to maintain a steady
current and voltage. These issues undermined our ability to observe the clear, proportional
relationship between voltage and current as predicted by Ohm's Law.
Precautions
1. Ensure all measuring devices, like ammeters and voltmeters, are calibrated for accurate
readings.
2. Confirm all connections are secure to prevent loose wires from causing fluctuations in
readings.
3. Use a stable power source to avoid voltage fluctuations that can impact accuracy.
4. Keep power levels appropriate to prevent the resistor from overheating and changing
resistance.
5. Use rubber or insulating gloves while handling the circuit to avoid accidental electric
shocks, especially if working with higher voltages.
