8- Integrity
Driving Tools

1. Flathead or Slotted Screwdriver

A flathead screwdriver, also called a slotted screwdriver, is a tool with a wedge-shaped flat tip
that is designed to fit into the notch on a slotted screw. These tools come in various sizes and
lengths, including oversized flathead screwdrivers useful in automotive work, standard-size
screwdrivers for furniture construction, and precision flathead screwdrivers suitable for working
on computers and other delicate electronics.

2. Clutch Screwdriver
A clutch screwdriver will depend on what type of clutch screw you have. For example, the clutch
screw has evolved from a drive that was commonly used in the manufacture of mobile homes,
recreational vehicles, and classic automobiles and trucks produced in the 1950s.

3. Phillips Screwdriver
Phillips screwdrivers have an X-shaped tip that is made to fit inside the X-shaped notch of a
compatible Phillips head screw.

4. Hex Screwdriver
A hex screwdriver is designed to remove or drive fasteners with a hexagonal notch, like the
screws that are commonly found in many furniture products.

5. Robertson Screwdriver
Often referred to as a square-drive screwdriver, Robertson screwdrivers are capable of driving
screws and fasteners with a square-shaped notch at a higher torque than most other
screwdrivers.

6. Offset Screwdriver
An offset screwdriver is a Z-shaped tool with screwdriver heads on each end and a horizontal
metal handle in between.

7. Ratcheting Screwdriver
Best for quickly removing or tightening fasteners without repositioning the screwdriver, and
working in tight spaces

8. Precision Screwdriver
Precision screwdrivers are small, narrow tools that are designed to tighten and loosen tiny
screws. A good example of the type of screw these screwdrivers are made for is the small screw
located in the frame of a set of glasses.
Soldering Tools

1. Soldering Station
A soldering station is a complete kit that comes with all the essential tools for soldering. The
common tools include soldering iron, hot air gun, holder/stand for soldering iron, and cleaning
pad/sponge. A soldering station is commonly used to solder sensitive electronic components as
you can set the precise temperature of the soldering tip.

2. Soldering Iron
Soldering irons are commonly used for circuit boards, PCB assembly, and electrical wiring.

3. Soldering Gun
Soldering guns are shaped like pistols and are operated using electricity. The soldering gun
uses tin-based solder to solder copper wires or make other electrical connections.
4. Desoldering Station
A desoldering station uses either hot air or vacuum to melt and remove excess solder after the
soldering process.

5. Soldering Pencil
Soldering pencil is used to solder small metallic elements and electrical components.

6. Butane Soldering Iron

The butane soldering iron is a modified version of the conventional soldering iron that runs on
butane. It heats up fast and can melt solder in less than 40 seconds. Besides, it is also cordless
and has a wide range of temperatures. So, you can use this for a wide range of soldering
purposes and for soldering different materials. This type is not that common for soldering
electronic components.
Splicing Tools

1. Long nose pliers

Also known as needle-nose pliers, snipe-nose pliers, or pointed-nose pliers, are a type of pliers
with long, tapering jaws that are used for cutting, holding, bending, and repositioning wire.

2. Side cutter pliers

Also known as diagonal cutting pliers, are a tool used for cutting wire and other materials. They
are characterized by their angled cutting edges that allow for precise cuts and the ability to cut
flush to a surface.

3. Wire stripping pliers

Also known as cable strippers, are handheld tools that remove the insulation from electrical
wires without damaging the wire's conductive core.

Cutting tools

1. Hacksaw
Is a fine-toothed saw, originally and mainly made for cutting metal. The equivalent saw for
cutting wood is usually called a bow saw. Most hacksaws are hand saws with a C-shaped
walking frame that holds a blade under tension.
2. Tinsnips
Hand shears for cutting sheet metal.

3. Utility knife
Is any type of knife used for general manual work purposes. Such knives were originally fixed-
blade knives with durable cutting edges suitable for rough work such as cutting cordage,
cutting/scraping hides, butchering animals, cleaning fish scales, reshaping timber, and other
tasks.

ESD Tools

1. Antistatic wrist strap

Also known as an ESD wrist strap or ground bracelet, is a device that prevents a person from
building up static electricity on their body while working with sensitive electronic equipment.
2. ESD (electrostatic discharge) mat
Also known as an anti-static mat, is a covering that prevents static electricity from building up
and damaging sensitive equipment. ESD mats are often used in industrial and manufacturing
environments, but can also be used in retail and office buildings.

Auxiliary Tools

1. Wrench or spanner
Is a tool used to provide grip and mechanical advantage in applying torque to turn objects—
usually rotary fasteners, such as nuts and bolts—or keep them from turning.

2. Allen wrench
Is a small, L-shaped tool with a hexagonal cross-section, designed specifically for turning bolts
with hexagonal sockets.
3. Tweezers
Are an extention of our fingers and they allow us to grab, grip, place, remove or hold items that
are too small or delicate for our fingers to manipulate.

4. Magnifying Glass
Is a convex lens that is used to produce a magnified image of an object. The lens is usually
mounted in a frame with a handle.

5. Brush
The brush tool is an element of the painting tool that allows you to select a brush shape (square,
circle, oval and so on) and also the the thickness in pixels you want to paint on your image with.
Compilation
of Different
Types of
Resistors

Linear Resistors

The resistors whose value changes with the applied temperature and voltage, are called linear
resistors. Most types of resistors are linear devices that produce a voltage drop across
themselves when a current flows through them There are two basic types of resistors with linear
properties namely fixed resistors and variable resistors.

Fixed resistors
Fixed resistors are resistors with a specific value. Fixed resistors one of the most widely used
types of resistor. Fixed resistors are used in electronics circuits to set the correct conditions in a
circuit.

Types of Fixed Resistors

1. Wire Wound Resistors

2. Thin Film Resistors

3. Carbon Composition Resistors

Variable Resistors

Variable Resistors consist of a slider which taps onto the main resistor element and a fixed
resistor element. Simply we can say that a variable resistor is a potentiometer with only 2
connecting wires instead of 3.

Types of Variable Resistors

1. Potentiometer

2. Rheostat

3. Trimmer Resistor

Non-Linear Resistor

Non-linear resistors are those types of resistors where the electric current flowing through it
changes with the exchange in applied voltage or temperature and does not change according
to Ohm’s law. There are several types of non-linear resistors, but the most commonly used are
mentioned below.

Thermistors

Thermistors are a type of variable resistor that notices the change in temperature. In other
words, it is a 2 terminal device that is very sensitive to temperature. The resistance of a
thermistor is inversely proportional to the temperature.

Varistor Resistors

A varistor is a non-linear resistor made of semiconductor and current through which depends
non-linearly on the applied voltage across it. MOV or metal oxide varistor is the most commonly
used form of varistor resistors.

Photo Resistor or LDR (Light Dependent Resistors)

Photo Resistor or LDR (Light Dependent Resistors) or Photo Conductive Cell is a light-
controlled variable resistor. The photo resistor resistance decreases with increase in incident
light intensity.

Surface Mount Resistors

Surface Mount Resistors also called SMD resistor are rectangular in shape. An SMD is an
electronic component that is made to use with SMT or Surface Mount Technology.
