Class, before we to start with our discussion let’s

have an activity first. This activity is called “I
RACE YOU!”
Mechanics:
 You will be divided into 4 groups (team:
Charizz, Uwu, Corona, and Gora).
 This will look like a race because I will
present here 15 jumbled letters, and each
group will just have to raise their group
name if they know the answer.
 The first one to have raise their group name
will be the one to answer. If their answer is
correct then the points will be given to the
group, and if not, other groups will be given
a chance to raise their group name and give
the answer.
 The team who got the highest score will be
declared as the winner.
Are my instructions clear?

Did you enjoy our activity?
Yes, ma’am!
Alright! Let us flash all the words that you have
formed on our activity.

2. Analysis

How do you think these words are related to each

other? The words are related to each other in terms of
having varied types of information that we can use
for further studies and discoveries.
Are the sources of information important?
Why? Yes ma’am, because your sources will give you
accurate information to summarize and paraphrase
as you create your final product.

What will happen if there are no available source of Ma’am having no source of information might
information? Do you think people can still live results in unreliable sources in. Not so ma’am,
well? Why? because information is important in everyone’s lives
because without information, we would not be able
to develop our knowledge on the world.
3. Abstraction

Now, what we’re going to discuss today is about the

Types of sources of information mainly the primary
sources and secondary sources of information.

Presentation of the learning objective:

Before that, let us know first the objectives that we At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
have to meet today. May I request someone to a. identify the different sources of information;
please read our objective? b. differentiate a variety of primary and
secondary sources of information in
gathering data; and
c. value the importance of the two sources of
information specially in research writing.
Sources help us to know whether the information
we gather are reliable or not. Not all of the source
are reliable and true, so basically knowing the
sources has a big impact in your data gathering or
for the information you gather. It also helps us to
have credible evidence in your research data.

Primary Sources
A primary source provides direct evidence about an
event, object, person, or work of art. Primary
sources are immediate, first-had accounts of a topic,
from people who had a direct connection with it.

Primary sources can include:

 Text of laws and other original documents.

 Newspaper reports, by reporters who
witnessed an event.
 Speeches, diaries, letters and interviews can
be a primary source.
 Photographs, video, or audio that capture an
event.

Secondary Sources
Secondary sources are one step removed from
primary sources, though they often quote or
otherwise use primary sources. They can cover the
same topic but add a layer of interpretation and
analysis.

Secondary sources can include:

 Analysis to interpretation of data.
 Articles about topic.
 Dissertation
 Textbooks
 Biographies
 Opinion pieces

If the article was written at the time something

happened, then it is a primary source. And again, if
an article was written late year after something
happened then it is a secondary source.

Think about it like this. If I tell you something, I am

the primary source. If you tell someone else what I
told you, you are the secondary source.
Secondary Source materials can be articles in
newspapers, magazines, books or articles found that
evaluate or criticized by someone else's original
research or information.

Are we clear class?

Now, why is it important to have primary and Yes, ma’am.

secondary sources of information?
Ma’am it is important because they complement
each other to help you build a convincing argument.
Board work: Primary sources are more credible as evidence, but
secondary sources show how your work relates to

Okay, it seems that you were able to identify the
types of sources. Because of that we will have a
quick review in identifying the types of sources.

4. Application

Alright, so now to put our understanding of topic, I

will divide you into six groups. You will be given
set of images which you can get some sort of
information about something. All you need to do is
to evaluate and label each image or picture as

Is that clear?
