b) Conductor at lower potential
c) Direction of conventional current
d) Direction of flow of electrons
7) 100 J of work is done in moving a charge of 5 coulombs from one terminal of the battery to
another. What is the potential difference of the battery? (Ans. 20 V)
8) If 4 x 10 -3 J of work is done in moving a particle carrying a charge of 16 x 10 -6 C from infinity to
a point P, what will be the potential at the point P? (Ans. 250 V)
9) How much work is done in moving a charge of 2 C from a point at 118 V to a point at 128 V?
(Ans. 20 J)
10) A charge of 3 C is moved in an electric field from infinity to two points A and B. If the work
done in bringing the charge to point A is 15 J and to the point B is 21 J, calculate the potential
difference between A and B (Ans. 2 V)
11) Potential difference between two points of a wire carrying 2 A current is 0.1 volt. Calculate the
resistance between these points. (Ans. 0.05 Ω)
12) A simple electric circuit has a 24 V battery and a resistor of 60 Ω. What will be the current in the
circuit? (Ans. 0.4 A)

13) What is the potential difference between the ends of a conductor of 16 Ω resistance, when a
current of 1.5 A flows through it? (Ans. 24 V)
14) An electric bulb draws a current of 200 mA when connected across 220 V. What is its resistance?
(Ans. 1100 Ω)
15) When a p. d of 20 V is applied across a resistor, it draws a current of 3 A. If 30 V is applied
across the same resistor, what will be the current? (Ans. 4.5 A)
16) The values of current I flowing in a given resistor for the corresponding values of potential
difference V across the resistor are given below. Plot a graph between V and I and calculate the
resistance of that resistor.
V (volts) 0.1 0.2 0.4 0.5 0.6 0.7
I (amperes) 0.5 1.0 2.0 2.5 3.0 3.5

17) Using the following data, draw a graph taking V on the x-axis and I on the y-axis. Also find the
resistance from the graph.
