Topic/Theme: My Family Learning

Objectives: Students will be able to identify and name family members.

Students will understand the roles and relationships within a family. Students
will express their own family structure through drawing and speaking.
Materials: Picture cards of family members (mother, father, sister, brother, etc.)
Whiteboard and markers Drawing paper and crayons Family tree template Glue
and scissors (optional)
Procedures/Steps/Activities: Introduction (5 minutes): Begin with a brief
discussion about families. Ask the students, "Who is in your family?" and
encourage them to share. Show picture cards of family members and have
students repeat the names aloud.
Main Activity (15 minutes):
Activity 1: Family Tree: Provide each student with a family tree template. Ask
them to draw or paste pictures of their family members on the tree. Assist
students in labeling each family member.
Activity 2: Family Roles: Discuss the roles of each family member using picture
cards. Ask students to share what each family member does (e.g., "My mom
cooks dinner," "My dad drives me to school").
Activity 3: Drawing and Sharing: Give students drawing paper and crayons to
draw their families. Encourage students to include all family members and any
pets. Have students take turns showing and explaining their drawings to the
class.
Closure (5 minutes): Review the family member names and roles with the class.
Sing a simple family-related song (e.g., "Finger Family Song"). Praise students
for their participation and effort.
Assessment/Evaluation: Observe students during the activities to see if they can
correctly identify and name family members. Listen to their explanations and
descriptions during sharing time to assess understanding of family roles.
Review their family tree templates and drawings to ensure they have included
and labeled family members correctly. Provide positive feedback and
encouragement to foster a love for learning.
