Option 1: Revising the sounds and words
- Show flashcards: Show flashcards and ask Whole class
pupils to say: square, box, fox, quiz. work
- Game: Pass the ball.
Give flashcards for pupils to pass with the Individual
music, then when the music stops, those work/group
who get the flashcards will say the words. work
Option 2: Singing
- Give some pupils the flashcards square, box, Individual
fox, quiz. work
- Ask the whole class to sing the songs in Unit Whole class
5 and Unit 6 together. work
- Have pupils holding the flashcards stand up
and show flashcards when they sing the
words they are holding.
- Lead to Activity 1, Fun time 2.
1. Rearrange the letters to make words. Then say. 12 minutes
Step 1 Have pupils look at each picture and say the Whole class
words. Ask What do you see? work
Step 2 Ask pupils to look at the pictures then rearrange Whole class
the letters to make words correctly. Then say. work/
Explain how to do the task. Individual

Model with the first word if necessary. Give
further support to those pupils who find it difficult
to do the task.
Step 3 Have pupils exchange their answers in pairs or Pair work/
groups. Ask them to point to the words and say Group work

Step 4 Call some pupils to write the words on the board, Individual

pairs.
If teacher uses hoclieu.vn or slides, he/ she can
show the wordsearch and call on one or two
pupils to go to the board and point to the words
in the wordsearch.
Extension After the pupils find the words and pronounce Group work/
them, organize a short game. Divide the class into Whole class
two teams. Call on one pupil from each team to work
go to the board. Call out a word and the two
pupils have to write them on the board. Give a
point to each correct word. Pupils from the teams
take turns to write the words.

2. Let’s play: Bingo 13 minutes

Step 1 Give each pupil a bingo grid. Individual


Give instruction: ask pupils to write the words work
from Units 3-6. (teacher writes on the board for
pupils to write into their bingo grid 3 x 3: sail,
sand, sea, rainbow, river, boat, questions, square,
quiz, box, fox, ox).
Step 2 Model the game. Instruct pupils to listen to the Whole class
words and cross out the words they have. Have work/
them continue this activity until they cross out Individual
the words in a row or column. work
Follow the same procedure with the rest.
Step 3 Have the whole class play the game. Call 5 first Whole class
pupils to be the winners of the game and praise work
them.
Ask pupils to say the words in their bingo grid.

II. INPUT Language:
- Four sets of pictures as jigsaw puzzles: (1) a girl doing a
quiz, (2) a fox, (3) a box and (4) a boy answering a
question. Underneath each picture is sentence structures
with a gap for completion.

Show flashcards quickly for the pupils to guess work/

3. Guess and write. Then say. 13 minutes

Step 4 Show the pictures in Activity 3 on hoclieu.vn or on Whole class
the screen. Point to the words randomly and call work
on some pupils to read the words in front of the
class.
Otherwise, show the flashcards and invite some
pupils to look at the flashcards and say the
sentences.
Step 5 Have pupils say the completed sentences aloud Individual
(say “Now say.”). Do this several times, with pupils work /
saying the sentences both individually and in Pair work
chorus. Correct their pronunciation if necessary,
and praise them when their pronunciation is good.
Extension Ask pupils to work in groups and practise speaking Group work/
the words by doing actions and guessing with the Individual
words quiz, fox, box, question... in five minutes. work
Ask some pupils to go to the board, do actions for
other teams to guess.
4. Let’s play: Spelling bee 12 minutes
