Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing in regards to the​ Lab Technician I position​ ​at Addgene. I became


interested in the this position because from the last 2 months, I have been working
here. When I finished my Biomedical Program, I wanted to join as a lab tech, because
when I visited here for the first time, I decided I wanted to work here as a lab tech. But I
liked Addgene so much, I decided to start with a part time job. Now that I have a chance
of being a lab tech, I want to take the role as a lab tech. In these two months, I have
seen what a​ Lab Technician I ​does, and now I’m more excited to be able to play this
role, and I feel more confident about working with this role. I want to challenge myself
and explore the operation activities related to the laboratory and facilities. As a new
graduate of the Just a Start Biomedical Careers Program, I have acquired the required
knowledge and practical skills to be successful in this role. The JAS Biomedical Careers
Program is an intensive training program that combines classroom teaching with
technical training. The classroom portion included a strong foundation in general,
organic and biochemistry, cell & molecular biology, and microbiology. The technical
training included an introduction to fundamental laboratory techniques with an emphasis
on cell culture. I have also gained practical skills in techniques including PCR and
bacterial transformation.

I have developed the ability to perform my duties with speed and efficiency, as well as
accuracy and attention to details. I am a competent team player, and detail-oriented,
with the ability to work efficiently in different environments.

I believe my talents matched with my drive to continuously grow in this field make me
a great candidate for the position as a ​Lab Technician I​. I hope to be able to gain
more experience and knowledge working for Addgene. Thank you for your time and
