Honorable dignitaries, learned delegates, respected teachers, participants of the conference, and
Students, a warm good morning to one and all present here. I Krishna Patel and Om Amin On behalf Of
the School of Business and Law at Navrachana University, extend a warm welcome to you at the 6 th
National IPR Symposium on IPR & Sustainable development organized in association with the SSIP AND
GUJCOST.

Welcome to this esteemed gathering, where minds converge and ideas ignite in the pursuit of a noble
cause – the synergy between Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and sustainable development. It is with
great pleasure and anticipation that we come together today, uniting diverse perspectives, expertise,
and aspirations under one shared purpose: to explore, to innovate, and to inspire.

Throughout this symposium, we will engage in thought-provoking discussions, explore innovative


approaches, and forge meaningful collaborations to harness the power of intellectual property rights for
the betterment of society and the planet. Together, we will strive to cultivate a future where innovation
thrives, sustainability flourishes, and the benefits of progress are shared by all.

So let us embark on this journey with open hearts, open minds, and a shared commitment to harnessing
the power of intellectual property rights for the betterment of humanity and the planet. Thank you for
gracing us with your presence, and may our time together be marked by meaningful dialogue,
transformative insights, and a renewed sense of purpose.

In this room, we are honored to host a tapestry of brilliance – from policymakers and leaders to scholars
and activists – each bringing their unique insights and experiences to the table. It is this diversity of
thought and expertise that will enrich our discussions, challenge our assumptions, and propel us toward
actionable solutions that transcend boundaries and transform lives.

Keeping that in mind We extend a warm welcome to our honorable dignitaries:

With your due permission, we would like to start the inaugural session “with the lighting of this lamp,
may darkness be replaced by light, ignorance by knowledge, and sorrow by happiness.”

To make this event a blessing, one invokes goddess Saraswati by kindling the lamp of knowledge and
wisdom. For seeking the blessings, for the same, I invite our Principal Sujatha Patil Ma’am to accompany
our Distinguished Guest to kindle the lamp. I also invite all the dignitaries for the same.

I would like to introduce the Principal of Law, Dr. Sujatha Patil.

Dr. Sujata Patil has completed her PhD in the area of Intellectual Property Rights from Dr. Ambedkar Law
University Tamil Nadu. Before joining Navrachana University as a Principal of Law, she has worked in
several reputed institutions in Banglore for around 15 years. Mam is a recipient of several prestigious
awards and has published research papers in reputed National and International journals.

I invite ma’am for the introductory address.

I would like to introduce Dr. Sandeep Patil, Associate dean and program chair of chemistry Sos.

‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ is our Indian tradition where we honor our guests like God. To Convey our gesture of
respect and welcome, I would like to invite Provost sir to please extend a Warm welcome to the chief
guest of our event Hon’ble Ms Nidhi Pillai.

I feel extremely privileged to have this opportunity to introduce our distinguished guest Ms. Nidhi Pillai.

The School of Business & Law at Navrachana University has organized a 6th National IPR Symposium on
IPR & Sustainable development organized in association with the SSIP AND GUJCOST. We are truly
honored to have with us Adv. Avdhoot Suman to host the first session regarding IPR & Bio diversity and
I’m privileged to have been given this Opportunity to introduce Avdhoot Suman sir.

Academically Adv. Avdhoot Sumant had pursued his Law degree from M.S University and completed his
post-graduate degree in IPR from National Law School of India University from Bangalore. Beginning his
practice from year 1990 he has served in various jurisdiction as Sessions Court, District Court and many
other both in and outside Gujarat. He also has a vast experience of more than over 2 decades in various
fields of Law specifically IPR, Corporate Law, Foreign Trademark Issues and Civil laws. Considering his
plethora of experience, he has also had received an opportunity and was appointed as District Judge,
participate in Civil & quasi criminal Proceedings, Arbitration Proceedings, RTI Proceedings, National
Consumer Forum, Delhi yet opted to continue the professional practice. He also has participated in
Domestic Inquiries and Arbitration Proceedings involving contracts and projects of all scales. Since years
he has been rendering services in training and sharing knowledge with the Western India Branch
Chartered Accountants Institute of India, National Academy of Indian Railways, the M. S. University,
Police training School in Vadodara and extensively conducting various training courses for IRMA, IIMM
and many other professional bodies. Adding onto this he also is Heading the Firm in the name and style
of “The Satya Vidhi & Company” –Advocates & Consultants & working as partner at of associate firm
“The Satya Niti & Company” – Lexultants & Lexwisers.
The School of Business and Law at Navrachana University has organized a 6th National IPR Symposium on
IPR & Sustainable development organized in association with the SSIP AND GUJCOST. We are truly
honored to have with us Dr. Namrata Luhar to host the second session regarding Role of Generic and
Biosimilar drugs in Sustainable Development Vs IPR Issues and I’m privileged to have been given this
Opportunity to introduce Namrata Luhar ma’am.

In addition to the lectures a small quiz has also been organized regarding ipr for the same I would like to
invite Krish Patel and Shivam Bhatt to present the instructions and details for the followed up quiz.

We would like to felicitate our honorable guests with a token of gratitude.

I invite Mr. Vidhymaan Singhal , Assistant Professor of Law to please felicitate Mr. Avdhoot Suman.

I Invite Ms. Madhura Thombre , Assistant Professor of Law to please felicitate Ms. Namrata Luhar.

Was truly an honor for all of us to listen to such eminent personalities. Thank you for gracing us with
your presence, and may your contributions help to illuminate the path forward as we navigate the
intersection of intellectual property rights and sustainable development.
