Dear Officer/Cadet,

Greetings and welcome to the Hellenic Army Academy's International

Spring Semester 2024 (ISS-24)!

The International Semester is a successful initiative organized by the

Hellenic Army Academy since 2018, conducted under the ERASMUS+
framework. It provides young cadets and future officers with a unique
opportunity to immerse themselves in diverse experiences from an early stage,
fostering the development of a Common Security & Defense Culture. This
initiative also aims to strengthen the bonds between our Academy and your
esteemed Higher Education Military Institution.

To assist in your seamless transition to the HAA, we have prepared this

concise guide. We highly recommend that you read it attentively and use it as
your primary reference while preparing for the ISS-24. The guide covers academic
and practical aspects that may arise during your stay at the Academy.
Additionally, a brief Q&A section is included to address common questions posed
by new members of our student community.

In conclusion, we are committed to ensuring that your experience at the

HAA and in Greece is not only highly beneficial but also educational and exciting.
We extend our heartfelt wishes for success in this captivating journey.

6. Ethical & Academic Standards in the HAA

Hellenic Army Academy is committed to the highest ethical and professional
standards of conduct. Members of the HAA community are expected to conduct their
activities as required by law and by the Academy's policies and procedures.

Whenever violations at the ethical or academic spectrum occur, the Academy

treats them as matters of significant concern because they so greatly disrupt everyday
life and our shared values at the HAA.

6.1 Integrity

Deeply embedded in the Academy's organizational culture is the:

"Cadet's Code of Honor"

"A Cadet must NOT steal, lie, cheat, slander, flatter

or tolerate those who do in her/his environment."

As proud members of the Hellenic Armed Forces, we are firmly bound to those
values and expect our international partners to do the same. Therefore, we urge you
to display honesty and forthrightness in every situation in and out of the classroom.
We expect you to represent yourself honestly even when potential wrongdoing or
violation of policies is involved. Relatively minor problems can become major ones
when compounded by lying or deception.

6.2 Academic Integrity

Cadets who intentionally submit work either not their own or without clear
attribution to the original source, fabricate data or other information, engage in
cheating, or misrepresentation of academic records may be subject to sanctions for
violation of the HAA principles of academic and professional integrity fundamental
to the purpose of the Academy.

-17-
Hellenic Army

6.3 Alcohol and Drugs

Any form of Alcohol and/or drugs is strictly prohibited within the Academy
according to the Hellenic Army Regulations and the National Legislative Framework
in effect. According to the National Legislative Framework, students violating those
policies will be held liable.

We emphasize these issues from our concern for each cadet's welfare and our
conviction that these standards must be upheld unquestionably to function effectively
as a member of the Armed Forces.

6.4 Sexual Harassment and Violence Reporting

HAA is committed to maintaining a safe environment for cadets. Because of this

commitment and because of existing regulations, we must advise you that if you tell
any of your instructors about matters concerning sexual assault, stalking, sexual
harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual exploitation involving a
member of the campus community, your instructor is required to report this
information to the Academy’s leadership. For more information, reach the Erasmus+
