Operations on Radicals

Addition and Subtraction of Radicals


Two or more radicals are said to be similar if they have the same index
and radicands.
Similar radicals can be combined into one radical using addition or
subtraction using the distributive property.
Dissimilar radicals cannot be reduced to a single radical.
