SWACHHTA HI SEVA ANCHORING SCRIPT

Good Afternoon everyone!

Respected Chairman Sir , Principal Sir, my colleagues, and dear students, it gives
me immense pleasure to welcome you all to today’s special event, dedicated to
one of the most important movements in our nation—Swachhta Hi Seva. This
campaign embodies the spirit of cleanliness, community service, and the
collective responsibility we all share towards keeping our surroundings clean and
green.

Today’s occasion also holds special significance as we are on the threshold of

celebrating Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji,
the father of our nation, was not only a leader of India’s freedom struggle but also
a great advocate of cleanliness and sanitation. His vision of a clean India
—‘Swachh Bharat’—was deeply rooted in his belief that cleanliness is as
important as independence.

Through the Swachhta Hi Seva movement, we are paying tribute to Gandhiji’s

ideals, embracing his vision, and turning it into action. This event is a humble
effort to take forward the legacy he left behind—a legacy that reminds us that
real progress begins with personal and community hygiene.

As we gather today to reaffirm our commitment to cleanliness, let us remember

that each small act, whether it’s picking up litter or planting a tree, contributes to
a larger movement. It’s not just about clean streets and parks, it’s about building
a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come.

With that, I warmly welcome you all to this celebration of cleanliness, service, and
the values of Mahatma Gandhi.

Let us together pledge to keep our environment clean and follow the path shown
by the great Mahatma. Thank you, and let’s make this event a meaningful one.
Song by School Choir

Thank you! Up next, we have our school choir performing Raghupati Raghav Raja
Ram, a favorite bhajan of Mahatma Gandhi. This hymn reflects his values of
peace, unity, and devotion. Let’s welcome the choir as they fill the air with this
beautiful melody.

After the Performance : Thank you, choir, for that wonderful performance.

Speech on Three Wise Monkeys of Gandhiji

Now, let’s move on to our next event, where students from Class III, IV, and V will
share their thoughts on the significance of Gandhiji’s three wise monkeys.

We often see these three monkeys as symbols of wisdom—'See no evil, hear no

evil, speak no evil.' Today, our young students will offer their insights on how
these teachings are still relevant in our lives, guiding us to live with integrity,
kindness, and mindfulness.

Let’s welcome them as they help us understand the relevance of these values
through their eyes.

After the Performance: Thank you to our young speakers for their thoughtful
insights.

Speech on Gandhiji’s Life:

Now, we move on to a very special part of today’s program—reflecting on the life

and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. We have a speech that will take us through
Gandhiji’s journey, highlighting the lessons we can all learn from his life. From his
principles of non-violence and truth to his commitment to equality and justice,
Gandhiji’s teachings continue to inspire us to this day.

Let’s now invite Debopriya Roy from Class X to share with us the valuable
learnings we can draw from the life of the Father of our Nation.

After the Performance: Thank you for that enlightening speech on Gandhiji’s life
and values.
Speech on Swachhta Hi Seva

As we continue our program, let’s now focus on an important aspect of Gandhiji’s

vision—cleanliness. Up next, we have a speech on Swachhta Hi Seva, which
reminds us that there is no greater service than keeping our surroundings clean
and promoting hygiene in our community.

Let’s welcome Ahana Karak from Class VIII, who will share more about how this
movement is not just about physical cleanliness, but also about creating a cleaner,
healthier society for all.

After the Performance: Thank you for that wonderful speech on Swachhta Hi
Seva.

Must-Read Books on Gandhi Ji

Now, I’d like to take a moment to encourage all students to explore and learn
more about Mahatma Gandhi by reading the many books available in our school
library. I have a personal love for reading books on various subjects, and I always
encourage you all to explore the world of literature. Reading not only broadens
our horizons but also deepens our understanding of different cultures, ideas, and
philosophies. It can be a powerful tool for personal growth and empathy.

Today, as we celebrate Swachhta Hi Seva and Gandhi Jayanti, I would like to

suggest a few books on Mahatma Gandhi that I believe will inspire you:

We have a great collection of books on Gandhiji that offer valuable lessons about
his life, philosophy, and principles. Here are some of the titles you can borrow:

1. Hind Swaraj by Mahatma Gandhi – This book will give you insights into
Gandhiji's vision for self-rule and the importance of non-violence.

2. Gandhi Ek Satya – A wonderful exploration of Gandhiji's truth and values, and

how he transformed India with his ideologies.

3. Gandhi Ki Kahani by Sudhir Dixit – A simplified version of Gandhiji's life story,

perfect for young readers.
4. Mahatma Gandhi Aur Hindi Kavita – This book features 150 poems on Gandhiji
and offers an artistic take on his life and contributions.

5. The Story of My Experiments with Truth – Gandhiji’s own autobiography,

where he narrates his spiritual journey and experiments with truth.

6. Waiting for the Mahatma by R.K. Narayan – A fictional novel that portrays
Gandhiji through the lens of ordinary people living during the freedom struggle.

I myself have read the book “Waiting for the Mahatma by R.K. Narayan “ hence
I’d like to share with you my thoughts on a book I have personally read and
enjoyed—Waiting for the Mahatma by R.K. Narayan. This novel not only captures
a unique perspective of Gandhiji’s role during India’s freedom struggle but also
delves into how his ideals influenced ordinary people.

Video on Swachhta Hi Seva

Now, to further deepen our understanding of the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign and
its importance, we have a special video to share. This video features the Swachhta
Hi Seva anthem, a powerful reminder that cleanliness is not just about our
surroundings but also about the well-being of our entire community.

Let’s all turn our attention to the projector and watch this inspiring anthem
together.

Swachhta Pledge

As we near the conclusion of our program, it’s time for one of the most important
moments of the day—taking the Swachhta pledge.

To lead us in this pledge, I would now like to invite our respected Principal Sir to
the stage. This pledge will serve as a reminder of our commitment to cleanliness,
not just for today, but every day.

Let’s all stand and join Principal Sir in taking the Swachhta pledge.
