Canadim - Stage 2 - Document Guide
PROGRAM
The following documents are required to prepare your application for permanent residence.
In accordance with Canadian government rules, if any of the below listed documents are
missing, or are not completed sufficiently, you will run the risk that your application will not
be accepted.
Please note that the following is a preliminary document checklist. If you receive an
Invitation to Apply (ITA), your case manager will send you a detailed document checklist
based on your profile.
You need to provide the following documents to confirm your identity and civil status:
Marriage certificate; and /or death certificate of former spouse (if applicable)

If you have adopted children (under age 18), you must include the following
documents that apply to your situation:
o Adoption confirmation
Education/Training Credentials
Please provide the official diplomas and transcripts of all post secondary education as well
as your secondary education.
Demonstrating work experience is very important. If you are unable to gather the
documents in the requested format, please contact your Case Manager who can advise on
other documents to submit.
You must submit letters of reference from current and previous employers from the
last 10 years to prove your work experience. Your case manager will send you a
template.
If you have been employed in more than one position at the same company, please
provide the start/end dates, job title, hours worked per week, salary, duties and
responsibilities, listed separately for each position. These can be included in one letter. If

any of the above information is missing from your reference letter, please provide any
additional documents you have available to support your work experience.
Police Clearances:
You will also be required to provide evidence that you have applied for police clearances
from all countries where you and your spouse (if applicable) have resided for at least 6
months since the age of 18 or in the last 10 years whichever comes first. As police
clearances have a limited validity period, we recommend waiting to apply for the
necessary clearances until your application has been selected.
The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your household
(please see the table below).
Please provide a bank statement or letter from your bank stating how much in funds you
have available to you. The settlement funds must be in the principal applicants and/ or
spouse’s name (if applicable).
Important to note: If your statement show any large transcription, you should be able to
show documentation (e.g. sale receipts, transaction records, deed of gift, etc.) showing the
source of funds. The visa officers will be looking to ensure your funds belong to you fully
and are not borrowed.

These funds must remain stable throughout the entire immigration process, once the
application is submitted.
Applies to the main applicant, spouse and dependent children (if applicable).
o Evidence of family relation i.e. birth certificate showing mutual family member,
o Evidence that the relative currently resides in Canada i.e. provide a recent utility bill
showing Canadian address,
o Proof of relative’s status in Canada i.e. Canadian passport or permanent residence
card.

LATER IN THE PROCESS
If you are selected to submit an application, upon file submission, you will need to pay the
Government processing fee. In addition, please note that it is required to pay the Right of
Permanent Residence fee and Biometrics fees either upon file submission, or later on in
the process.
