1. What is phantom vibration syndrome? Have you ever experienced it? Explain. /2
Phantom vibration syndrome is when a person believes their phone vibrated even
though it didn't. This happens when someone is very attached to their phone to the
point where they would expect notifications. I have experienced this before during
times where I would expect or want to receive a notification. It's an instinct that I
have.

4. How many hours on average per day do we spend on social media? 2 hours /1
Social media is a highlight reel where people only show off their best and most impressive
moments. It gives people a false sense of perfection that can lead to them having
insecurities because of how much they compare themselves to people they see online.
Social media interactions like comments, likes and shares have become some sort of
currency that people use to evaluate and assess their self-worth. People tie their value to
the number of likes or comments in order to feel validation which could make people feel
worthless.

Many people experience FOMO of what we call the fear of missing out. It is the anxiety that
people get when we see others participating in activities, we aren't part of. People are
afraid of being left out of social interactions or activities which could lead to constant
stress.
4. Online Harassment
Many people experience bullying online through ways like harmful comments online which
can be damaging over time. Online harassment often targets vulnerable groups and can
strongly affect someone's self-esteem and mental health.
It's important to understand that social media impacts our mental health and the first to
change. Once a person realizes that they are negatively affected, they can start acting.
Like watching what we eat, we need to be cautious of what we consume of social media like
evaluating who and what we are consuming and reflect on whether it makes us feel better
or worse.
After having audited our social media diet, we can curate our social media feed by
unfollowing negative influences and following people who at least try to promote positive
and interesting content. Engaging in positive online experience enhances our online
experience.
It's important to promote kindness and respect online. By modeling good behavior, we
contribute to creating a positive and healthy environment for everyone.

Yes, I believe that it is important to develop our technologic awareness. Constant exposure
to social media and technology often leads to stress, anxiety and feelings of isolation.
According to the American Psychological Association's "Stress in America" survey, 43% of
the US population constantly check their social media, emails, texts etc. This behaviour was
linked to an increase of stress compared to those who checked less frequently. By
developing technological wellness, we can encourage better and more saine usage in order
to reduce stress and promote mental well-being.
