high school student attendance at Community schools has an increased percentage and occupies the highest
percentage position. However, there are very few students studying in specialist schools.
First, the proportion of students attending Voluntary-controlled schools reached a high level of 52%. The
lowest percentage of students enrolled in community and Specialist schools in 2000 was 12%. In addition,
attendance rates for Voluntary-controlled schools and Community schools were highest in 2005 at 38% and
32%, and for Specialist schools and Grammar schools at 11% and 19%.
However, in 2009, the attendance rate for Specialist schools was only 10%, down 2% compared to Grammar
schools. Voluntary-controlled schools trend to decrease significantly and eventually reach only 20%. But the
Community school saw a sharp increase and recorded the highest percentage of all years with 58% of students
enrolled in 2009.
