PROCEDURE:

1. To allow cooled metal cakes carrying from crane bay of furnace building to
be dumped into respective designated places only in metal handling yard.
2. To clear off any slag layer on metal cakes.
3. To size to 250mm to 300mm from metal cakes and transport to metal lot
making area to resize to desired sizes.
4. To pick desired size of metal from resized metal and stock them into lots as
per customer requirement. The specified metal lots will be sampled and
analyzed.
5. To check the metal lot for any slag touch or over size metal if any is
available, rework can be done to rectify the lot.
6. As per the customer’s specification/requirement, packing will be done
manually in jumbo bags after analysis. After final inspection by laboratory
inspector, stitching will be done to seal the bags.
7. Trucks will be placed at designated places to load jumbo bags. The trucks
will be inspected further and final truck Weighment is over. Then the truck
cargo will be sealed.
8. After verification of documents by dispatch department, the respective truck
will be cleared for transportation of the same to customer’s destination.
9. Metal will be recovered from remelts and remelts will be sent for furnace
consumption. The slag collected from metal cakes will be sent to MRP.
10.Under size fraction of metal collected during resizing process will be sent
for jigging plant. Slag and metal mixture up to – 25mm size fractions will be
sent for jigging plant.
SAFETY PRECATIONS TO BE TAKEN DURING FINISHED GOODS
LOADING INTO VEHICLES BY HYDRA.

1. All the persons who engaged for loading to be worn proper PPE’s.
2. Do not allow any person to stand under jumbo bags with metal being in
raised condition.
3. To check loading hook of hydra whether it is in proper condition or not.
4. Damaged jumbo bags should not be loaded into trucks.
5. Do not permit any unauthorized person behind hydra/truck while it is in
backward movement.
6. Vehicles will be placed in designated points only.
7. Do not carry loaded jumbo bags to long distances by hydra.
8. Do not allow any vehicle loading in night shift.
9. Do not carry over load bags by hydra.
10. Hydra Must have back horn.
