A Template for Full Paper of the Special Project (Review Paper) for
Summer Term 2020-2021
(Title May Be Maximum Two Rows, 16 points, Bold, left align)

Abstract (10 points)

Author’s names are written (12 points, left align) with initials followed by dot, family names are written in
full. The corresponding author’s name should be underlined.

Length of the abstract should be at least 150 words, but not more than 250 words. It should briefly describe
the objective, method and results of the paper. Manuscript should be written according to or referring to this template,
using MS-Word. Use font type Times New Roman, 10 points, with single spaced lines.

Keyword (10 points): Please list here 5-6 keywords of review paper

1. Introduction

In compliance with the NO Face-to-Face and No Deployment for OJT/Internship, this


special project (review paper) is one of the activities set as due equivalent of the number of hours
requirement prescribed by the various policies, standards and guidelines of the BS Applied Physics
program. Students are asked to look for faculty supervisors which can help them in the preparation
of review paper and mentor in panel presentation. The faculty supervisor can also be the student’s
prospect research adviser. Sample review papers can be acquired along with this template.
This document describes, and is formatted in, the desired format for the full papers.
Students are encouraged to submit papers which are 8-10 pages at maximum. For students,
the easiest way to follow correctly the paper template is to type directly in this MS-Word file.
References should be indicated in the text in square brackets [1] and listed at the end of the
paper. Students must be able to review at least 20 articles related to the chosen field. These 20
articles must listed as references at the end of this paper. All papers must be submitted by the last
day of practicum of July 2019. Review papers must be presented be presented before a panel
composed of at least 3 members. The presentation of the special project shall be done virtually.
The panel may give rating based on the rubrics provided by the Department of Physics. Each
student must present his/her review paper.

2. Format Requirements

Students should use font type Times New Roman (or Time) for the whole paper.

General Format Requirements
The general format requirements are as follows:

1. Margins: 1 inch top and bottom; 1 inches on left and right sides
2. Footer: left justify a list of author names and right justify the page number (10 pt Times
New Roman)
3. Title: 16pt bold Times New Roman, left align.
4. Author’s Name: in 12 pt bold Times New Roman with 13 pt spacing: one blank line after
the title, then a line with the author name(s) in normal type,
5. Affiliation/E-mails: in 11 pt italic Times New Roman with 13 pt spacing; this affiliation/e-
mails may be repeated as necessary for multiple affiliations.
6. Abstract Header: 10 pt bold Times New Roman with single spacing, with one blank line
above.
7. Abstract: A 150-300 word abstract in 10 pt Times New Roman, single spacing.
8. Section Headings: 12 pt bold Times New Roman (or Times) numbered accordingly with
Arabic numerals and one blank line above and below.
9. Body text: 12 pt Times New Roman (or Times), single spacing, one blank line between
paragraphs.
10. Figures: insert in text where appropriate, with 10 pt Times New Roman (or Times) caption
centered below the figure beginning “Figure 1: ” numbered in bold type as shown in the
example below.
11. Tables: as with Figures, but with caption beginning “Table 1: ” and placed above it.
12. Equations: centered, with equation number in Arabic numerals enclosed in parenthesis on
the right-hand margin, one blank line above and below
13. Units: SI units are preferred
14. References: References should appear at the end of the paper as shown below in 11 pt
Times New Roman with single spacing, with the “References” header in 11 pt Times New
Roman. Citations in the text of the paper should be numbered accordingly with Arabic
numerals in square brackets.
