16
1.3.17 Rings Pattern (Rings Arrangement)
The Rings Arrangement done by the program is explained in detail below:

1.3.17.1 Edge Rings Arrangement Procedure

Calculating Starting point of the Right Edge Rings:
Positive X -Axis side Start Location:
+Facewidth/2 – Ring Right Edge Distance
Negative X -Axis side Start Location:
-Facewidth/2 + Ring Left Edge Distance

Edge rings on both the sides of the roller:

If the user given more than 1 ring (Entered in the “Rings Pattern (Rings Arrangement)” edge
BOX numbers), the program will place, first ‘Edge Type Ring’ at the end of the roller, and the
rest will be the Center Type Rings.

1.3.17.2 Center Rings Arrangement Procedure

If the user does not given any rings in the “Rings Center Pattern Arrangement” field boxes,
the program will place all the given rings (Entered in the “Rings Pattern (Rings
Arrangement)” center BOX number), at the center of the roller.

The PDFs and PPT attached below explain the placement of the rings in more detail.

impactroller_example impact_rings_detail_ Rings_arrange_info1

.pdf arrangement.ppt .pdf

If the User enters rings in the “Rings Center Pattern Arrangement” boxes, the program will
place the given number of rings (“Rings Center Pattern Arrangement” center box) at the
center of the roller. The rest of the rings will be placed based on the below calculation.

XX = [“Rings Pattern (Rings Arrangement)” Center BOX number - “Rings Center Pattern
Arrangement” center BOX number]

17
YY = [“Rings Center Pattern Arrangement” Left Edge BOX number + “Rings Center Pattern
Arrangement” Right Edge BOX number]
NoOfGroups = XX/YY

NOTE:
• User should ensure all the time that these “NoOfGroups” should be an integer value.
• Program will consider the values given in the “Rings Center Pattern Arrangement” Edge
boxes numbers as NoOf Rings per Group.

The value “NoOfGroups” will signify the number of times the rings must be place on either side
from the center of the roller, ensuring each group is at a distance of “Center Distance” given by
the user.Refer the PDF attached and the example explained below to understand the ring group
arrangement in detail.

Detailed_information
_Rings_Arrangement2.pdf

Example:
Assume if the user given the below rings arrangement.
Rings Pattern (Rings
Arrangement) 14 20 14

Rings Center Pattern 1 (No of Rings per 2(No of Rings per

Arrangement group at the center 8 group at the center
Left of the roller) Right of the roller)

XX = 20 – 8
YY = 2+1

NoOfGroups = XX/YY
= (20 - 8) / (2+1)
= 12/3
=4
See the PDFs attached below to understand the placement of the rings.
