How to transfer save files between local and browser version

You can transfer your Peasant’s Quest save files between a local version of the game and the browser
version.

Transfer from local/desktop to browser version:

Step 1: Start a (new) game on www.tinkerer-games.com and save your game. You need to create a save
slot for each save file you wish to transfer.

Step 2: While in the browser game, press F12. This brings up the developer tools interface of your
browser. Click on the Application tab. Then under Local Storage, click on https://pq.tinkerer-games.com
To the right, under “Key” all your saves should be listed. Under “Value” to the far right is the actual data
contained in each save file/slot. To transfer save data, you’ll need to change the value data for each slot.

Step 3: Open the save folder in the local/desktop version of the game. For windows users this should be
under Peasants Quest NYDxxx\www\save\.

Mac users can find their saves under Peasants Quest NYDxxx
OSX\Game.app\Contents\Resources\app.nw\save\

Open the save file you wish to transfer in Notepad or a similar text editor. This will show the save data
for that file. Copy all the data.
Step 4: Return to your browser. Right click on the value of the save slot you wish to replace and select
“Edit”. Then paste the data you copied from your local file over it.

Repeat this step for every save you wish to transfer

Step 5: Close the developer tools interface and load your save. Your save should now be transferred.
Transfer from browser to local/desktop version:
This procedure is the same as described in the previous chapter, but instead of copying the data from
the local game, you copy the value data from the browser version to the local save file.

A big “thank you” to Mentir for helping me find this method.
