Testing and Adjusting

Transmission Hydraulic Controls

When testing must be done in a closed area, activate the brakes and use
blocks to prevent any movement of the machine during the tests. Let
only approved personnel on the machine. Keep other personnel off the
machine and in view of the operator.

NOTE: All tests and adjustments must be made with the oil in the hydraulic control system at the
normal temperature for operation. Be sure the linkage adjustments are correct before any tests are
made.

LINKAGE FOR THE HYDRAULIC CONTROLS


1. Speed control handle. 2. Collar. 3. Cap. 4. Safety lock lever. 5. Rack. 6. Housing. 7. Column. 8. Rod. 9. Bellcrank. 10.
Bellcrank. 11. Direction control lever. 12. Speed control lever. 13. Direction control rod. 14. Speed control rod. A. 2.01 in.
(51 mm) dimension.

1. Put safety lock lever (4) in the ENGAGED (lever up) position. Remove cap (3) from top of
housing.

2. Turn speed control handle (1) counterclockwise to the highest position (FOURTH speed) of rack
(5). Rack (5) must be even with the top of housing (6).

3. Disconnect one end of speed control rod (14). With rack (5) even with top of housing (6), adjust
rod (8) to get dimension (A), 2.01 in. (51 mm).

4. Move speed control lever (12) to FOURTH speed position. Make the necessary adjustment in
length to control rod (14) and connect it to bellcrank (10). Put direction control lever (11) in the
NEUTRAL "N" position. Make the necessary adjustment in length to control rod (13) and connect it
to bellcrank (9). Check to make sure rack (5) is still even with top of housing (6).

5. Make an adjustment to collar (2) on speed control handle (1) to FOURTH speed and tighten
setscrew.
