I’m 30 years old. I’m a nurse. I am working at Thanh Nhan hospital. I’m married/single. My

I have got 2 children: one son and one daughter. My son is Hung. He is 5 years old. My daughter
is Hong. She is 3 years old. I like listening to music. I’m interested in playing games.
I love watching movies. I’m keen on cooking. That’s all about myself.

Topic 1- The TV gameshow you like best
I’m going to talk about my favourite gameshow. It is “Who wants to be a millionaire?”,
This is a quiz show in which contestants have to go through a set of 15 questions with increasing
difficulty. The first 5 questions are pretty easy, and they always give me and my family a good
laugh. Contestants are given 4 lifelines to aid them with difficult questions, and most of them are
usually used up when the contestant reaches around question 7 or 8.
The show is a sea of knowledge. Many questions from different fields are asked, ranging from
economic, political knowledge to social one. Knowledge acquired from those shows are really
helpful to me. That’s all about the TV gameshow I like best.

Topic 2- Talk about your breakfast.

My favourite meal is breakfast. As we know the most important meal of the day is breakfast. It
gives us the energy to work for the whole day. I always get up early to cook breakfast for my
family. We often have a sandwich and orange juice for breakfast. Sometimes we have beef noodles
instead. On the weekend, I often go to the supermarket to buy food products for all the week and
I keep them fresh in the fridge. So it takes me a little time to prepare breakfast for my family. I
never skip a breakfast, even when I’m very busy. I am very happy to prepare meals for my family
because I want to protect our health. That’s all

Topic 3 – Talk about ways to have good health

If you want to have good health, you should follow these pieces of advice:
- Firstly, you should eat healthy food: lots of fruits, vegetable, fish and drink enough water every
day to stay healthy.
- Secondly, you should do exercises everyday by choosing a suitable sport such as jogging,
tennis, swimming, yoga, etc.
- Finally, you need to have regular health check – up. If you have some problems with your
health, you should go to the doctor immediately before it gets more serious. You should visit the
doctor regularly in order to find out any diseases.
- In short, if you take this advice, you will have a good health.

Topic 4 – Talk about your last holiday

This year, my family went to Da Lat city for our holiday. It took us about 6 hours to go there by
train. We visited many well-known tourist attractions in Da Lat, such as the Valley of Love, Truc
Lam Zen Monastery, and some waterfalls. Additionally, we went to the local market to try many
tasty dishes and buy some souvenirs. After 4 days, we went home. I think that I had a good
holiday and I’ll never forget it.

Topic 5 - Talk about the means of transport you like most

Now I will talk about the means of transport I like most. It is a car. It is really necessary for me
and my family.
Firstly, it is safer to drive a car than other vehicles because in a car there are air bags, seat belts,
car alarm, etc, that prevent us from being injured if you have an accident.
Secondly, you never have to think about the weather when you drive. A car has air-conditioner
which helps you to avoid getting wet, dust… so it helps to keep you healthy.
In the third place, you will feel comfortable and relaxed with the CD and DVD machines on the
car. You can listen music and you have pleasure of driving. When you are tired, you can stop the
journey and rest.
In short, except some disadvantages such as big expenses, air pollution, a car is always my first
choice.

Topic 6 – Talk about your house or flat/ apartment (2 – 4 minutes)

I am living in a house in Pleiku, Gia Lai. The house is very large with 3 floors. My house is very
nice and comfortable. The house was built 6 years ago. There are 7 rooms in my house: a living
– room, a dining room, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. My house is painted light green, so it is
very pleasant. In the living – room, there is a tea table, a sofa and a television. On the wall there
is my family picture. In front of my house, there are a small and beautiful garden. My family
often grows flowers and vegetables. Next to the garden, there is a small yard where my children
always play after going to school. After hard – working, we eat together in the dining room. And
then we watch TV. We are very happy. My house is warm. I love my house.

Topic 7 - Talk about your weekend activities. (2 – 4 minutes)

Weekend time is my favorite time in the week because I can enjoy myself and do many
relaxing activities.
In the morning, I have breakfast. I often go shopping with my friends. We spend the whole
morning going shopping and then have lunch in a restaurant in Pleiku city.
Then, I come back home for a nap. In the afternoon, I often go swimming with my neighbor
if the weather is hot. In winter I walk in the central park instead. I usually have dinner with
my family during weekend, so we can talk with each other and share our stories. After dinner,
I sometimes listen to music or chat with friends or check emails. I usually do not go to bed
late because I will have lots of work on Monday.
Topic 8 – Talk about playing games
Now I am talking about playing games. I’m very keen on playing games to relax after a hard-
working day. I often play online games on my smart phone when I have free time. I like Vo Lam
Truyen Ky. It’s very interesting and helps me think logically. Besides, game design is very
beautiful. Sometimes, I play badminton with my friends to keep fit. I feel very excited when I
play badminton. It helps me reduce stress as well as work pressure. I usually play games for
having fun and keeping fit.

Topic 9 – Talk about your idol (2 – 4 minutes)

Now I would like to talk about my idol. It’s my mother.
Since I was a child, I have been so close with her. She teaches me many things when I first steps
into the world. My mother is patient, caring, loving and understanding. When I have problems,
she not only is the person I can talk with hours but also loves me unconditionally. She always
listens to my ideas in order to share my feeling and teaches me to avoid fighting on little things.
Besides, we also have same hobby, we like reading very much. Sometimes, we went to bookstore
together. In short, my mother is my real-life hero who makes me strong and keep moving.
I love her very much and always proud of her.

Topic 10 – Talk about your favourite song (2 – 4 minutes)

Now I would like to talk about my favourite song.
I love to listen to music and the song titled ‘Careless Whisper’ by George Michael is my
favourite one. George Michael sang the song and it is a great piece from him. I frequently listen to
music. I love the song for its outstanding lyric. Besides, the official video is also attractive which
drew my attention for the first time. When I listen to the song, I feel something special inside my
mind. It appears that the lyric was meant for me. Coincidentally, the lyric matches with a part of
my life. So, I am fond of the song.

Topic 11 – Talk about your memorable trip (2 – 4 minutes)

Now I will talk about my memorable trip.
Last summer, my family had a trip to Da Nang city. It was a Saturday morning and all members
of the family got up early to get ready for the trip. We drove from Pleiku to Da Nang city. Danang
haѕ a lot of beautiful beacheѕ. So, on the first day, we went to My An beach. The sky here is clear
and deep blue. We swam, then walked along the edge of the sea and took some photos. The food
was very fresh and deliciously cooked. On the 2nd and 3rd day, we went out to other famous places
in Danang such as Ba Na Hills, Marble Mountains, ,… The scenery here is very beautiful. In
addition, local people are friendly and kind. We enjoyed this trip a lot. I hope to come back here
one day in the near future.
Topic 12 – Talk about a time you played extreme sports (2 – 4 minutes)
I used to spend a lot of time playing sports. Then, one day, a friend introduced me to extreme
sports. These are sports that are very dangerous and exciting, for example, skateboarding and
surfing. The first extreme sport I tried was rock climbing. I learned how to do it at an indoor rock
climbing center, but I was soon climbing mountains. After that, I was ready for a new challenge.
I heard about zorbing and thought it sounded really exciting. Zorbing is when you get inside a big,
soft ball, and roll down a hill. The first time I went zorbing, I was pretty scared. I thought the ball
would break! Of course, everything was OK and I loved it.

Topic 13 – Talk about a time you went the amusement park (2 – 4 minutes)
The amusement park I am talking about is nearly 40 kilometers away from the city where I live
and is a large one.
I went there with my family. I managed the tickets, purchased lunch and took care of the
children. I enjoyed 2-3 rides and mostly took photos of me with the kids.
At noon I planned to have a bath in the swimming pool and I really enjoyed that. We also
enjoyed a 3D movie in the park and after I won a doll in the balloon game, I shouted like a 10
years old child. That was a refreshing gathering for us and I enjoyed both the company of my
family members and the nice environments and amusement facility of this park.

Topic 14 – Talk about a time you helped someone (2 – 4 minutes)

It is a moral value to help a person in any challenging circumstance. Now I'd like to talk about the
time I helped someone. I encountered a pregnant mother approximately two months ago on my
way back from work. She was holding a baby while carrying a large grocery bag. The heavy bag
made it difficult for her to carry her infant. Consequently, I promptly approached her and offered
to assist her by carrying the entire baggage. She thanked me beforehand and handed me her bag,
which I took to her home. She offered me a glass of water and even encouraged me to stay for
dinner when we arrived, but I gently declined because I needed to go home. I was running late for
home, but I was pleased that I could assist others who needed it.
Topic 15 – Talk about a time you gain achievement (2 – 4 minutes)
I am proud of an achievement that I accomplished a few months ago when I completed a marathon
Sparkling.
I completed the VnExpress Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon 2023, and it was a significant challenge
for me. The race was 15 kilometers long, and I had to train for several months to build up my
endurance and prepare for the event. Running such a long distance was physically demanding, and
I found it challenging to maintain my motivation throughout the training process.
Completing the marathon was a major achievement that I am very proud of, and I will always look
back on it as a highlight of my life.

Topic 16 – Talk about a time you used the Internet (2 – 4 minutes)

I was in my junior year in college and we had this assignment that required us to find the latest
statistics, some of which are very hard to come by. Apparently in order to get access to new data
you must know the right source and pay some fees. I found out that the statistics that I needed
were published in a book but unfortunately it was not available for sales in my country. And
even if I’d had it delivered, by the time it arrived it’d have been too late. So I had to contact a
friend in America and asked him to buy a hard copy then have the statistics pages scanned and
emailed to me.

Topic 17 – Talk about a time you learn new course (2 – 4 minutes)

The course is related to learning Bahnar. I work as a nurse in Gia Lai province. Every day I work
and communicate with Bahnar people, so I have to take a course of learning Bahnar. Although
there are many online courses, I prefer to join an institute for classroom coaching. Learning
another language is never easy for me. However, with the help of the teacher I am not only able
to understand but also speak a significant chunk of the Bahnar language.
It will be a worthwhile proposition to join this course because it makes me easier in my job

If I have to talk about one person I admire the most, that would be my mother. Since I was a child,

Topic 19 – Talk about a time you read an interesting book (2 – 4 minutes)

The book is called "Diary of a cricket" written by To Hoai. It's a short novel initially written for
children. However, I believe this book is suitable for all other ages because of the storytelling
ability of To Hoai. The book describes the adventure of a cricket through the world of animals
and people, of the good and bad, war and peace, ideals and life purpose in colorful viewpoint.
The cricket experienced a lot of setbacks and challenges but he overcame them to eventually
become a hero. The first time I read this book, I found it extremely hard to put it down. Reading
this book not only reduces stress from my work but also cheers me up whenever I'm blue. I love
it.
Topic 20 – Talk about a time you receive a present (2 – 4 minutes)
I was up to my ears with my work and the housework at that time; however, I didn't
forget that owning the IPhone was my top priority. On my latest birthday, my husband told me
that he wanted to take me to the Apple Store and purchase one for me. I could not believe what I
was hearing. That night it was tough for me to sleep because I was over the moon. In the
morning I woke up earlier than usual and went to the store with my husband. He bought me an
Iphone 14 ProMax. On the way home, I found myself flying with joy. At the end of the day, the
IPhone really satisfied my needs and it still works perfectly.

Topic 21- Talk about the school teacher who impressed you most
Now I am talking about the school teacher who impressed me most. Her name is Hoa. She is
a maths teacher. When I was a high school student, she was 25 years old. She was very beautiful
and friendly. In addition, she was very nice and inspired. She was very good at teaching. At that
time, my class was bad at maths. Thanks to her, my class improved step by step. I love maths
because of her. That’s all about the school teacher who impressed me most.

Topic 22 – The subject you liked best at school.

Now I am talking about the subject I liked best at school – The subject you liked best at
school. Now I am talking about the subject I liked best at school. It’s maths. Maths has always
been my favourite subject in my school days and my interest in maths helped me to understand
other science-related subjects more accurately. I like numbers and I am interested in calculation.
Besides, I was very good at Maths when I was a student. Maths helps me develop my
intelligence and my logical thinking. In addition, my maths teacher was very nice and inspired.
Her name is Hoa and she was very good at teaching. I love maths because of her. That’s the
reasons why I love maths./
Topic 23- Something that makes your life much more interesting
Now I am talking about something that makes my life much more interesting. Something

life much more interesting. It’s running. I’m very keen on running. In the past, I was very fat.
My friends often made fun of this. I was very sad. One day, I decided to keep fit and I started to
run. It was very hard for me to run when starting but I lose my weight day by day and I felt very
happy. Finally, I became fit thanks to running and other sports. I feel very happy now and my
life becomes much more interesting. Now I often run about 30 minutes a day to keep fit. That’s

Topic 24: A weekend activity you and your best friend usually take
Now I’m talking about a weekend activity I and my best friend often take. Weekend is my
favorite time in the week because I do many relaxing activities with my best friend. His name is
Hung. In the morning, after relaxing breakfast, I usually go to nearby garden coffee shop with
my best friend and enjoy the morning there, chatting and playing chess with him. We love
playing chess very much. Because my best friend and I are very busy in weekdays so we can just
play chess together at weekends. After the coffee, we often go to the cinema and enjoy a new
movie. That’s the weekend activity my best friend and I usually take.

Topic 26- Talk about your daily routines.

Now I am talking about my daily life. Now I am talking about my daily life. I usually get up
at 6 am. Then, I brush my hair, my teeth and wash my face. After that, I have breakfast at six
thirty (6.30) am. And then I go to work at 7 am. I work at hospital from seven thirty (7.30) to
eleven thirty (11.30) I have lunch at 12 o’clock at the canteen of my hospital. I take a nap about
30 minutes. I start working at 1 pm. I finish my work at 5 pm and go home. After going back
home, I cook dinner and have dinner at 7 pm. I often watch a movie before I go to bed at 10 pm.
That’s all about my daily routines
Topic 27- Talk about your lunch
Now I am talking about my lunch. My office is very far from my home, about 20 km, so I
don’t have lunch at home. I often have lunch at the canteen in weekdays when I go to work. At
weekends, I don’t have to go to work, so I have lunch with my family at home. I often have
lunch at 11.30 when I finish my work. For lunch, I often have rice, meat or fish, chicken and
vegetables. It’s about 30,000 dong for lunch. That’s all about my lunch

Now I am going to talk about my favourite singer. My favourite singer’s name is Le Quyen.
She is 40 years old. Le Quyen is a very famous singer in Vietnam. She is very beautiful. She has
brilliant eyes and long hair. She is very friendly and kind. She sings very beautifully. She has a
lot of popular songs like Giac mo co that, Hay tra loi em, Tinh lo … She is very famous for pop
and bolero music. I’m very busy, so I haven’t been to her concert yet, but I love Le Quyen very

I’d like to give a talk about living in a city. Living in a city has many advantages. Firstly,
you have a choice of everything. It is not hard to find a job in a city because there are lots of
companies, plants and factories there. Besides, you never get bored living in a city, you can
always go to the cinema or to the park because there are lots of entertainment facilities and nice
places to see. Last but not least, school students can choose the college they like to continue their
education. But of course there are also some disadvantages of living in a city. Firstly, it’s very
noisy in a big city, the traffic is usually heavy, and we often have traffic jams. The streets, public
transport vehicles /vi:iklz/ are crowded at the rush hour. Finally, many cities face the problem of
air pollution. Although there are some disadvantages, I still like living in Hanoi city. That’s all
